Hi Everyone,

I've just finished my first clue 2 square and love the texture of this square. Three more to go!

Happy knitting! :knit:

karenarp wrote:I finished my first square of clue 2. There are a few obvious problems with it but I am not worried. Two of the biggest problems are on the row when I dropped a stitch I was in the process of tinking and once I fixed the stitch I had forgotten I was going backwards, not forwards, so you can see the mistake. The other problem might be fixed and become unnoticable during construction. It is lopsided? No idea how that happened. Oh well, I dare anyone who sees this finished afghan in person to do better if they say anything and were not a knitter! It is sitting on my 9.5" template.
Thanks for all the tips.

I love it!!! Nicely done :bravo:

I have just finished my first Clue #2 square. The width works fine with just a tiny stretch. However, I had calculated approx 58 rows according to the gauge, seemed a little short so worked 60 rows. Still think I could have added a few extra rows.

Has anyone counted their rows for Clue 2. Please let me know your row count. Thanks

I just counted mine and I did 78 rows before cast-off.

After many attempts, Clue #2 --- along with Clue #1 -- is complete. Very happy with the color combination, and looking forward to Clue #3.

The video of making the Shaker Rib was immensely helpful. Without it, the stitch did not make sense (K1Below?), but it was surprisingly easy once thoroughly explained.

Attached is an sample of each of my squares in the various color combinations.

I knitted 84 rows! However, I am also using a size 6 U.S. needle to get the gauge. This makes it the right size for me. ;)

And mine comes out at 68 rows with 4.5 mm needles. When I did the little stretch for width I needed to add one last set of the two-row pattern. On the back I count 34 long stockinette stitches per column in the shape of à "v".

I finished my first motif for clue #2, and I also counted 34 stockinette stitches. I was reading previous posts, and they were getting 60 to 80 rows, I thought I was doing something wrong. pheww....

I am using 5.0mm needles and counted 66 rows. I have been looking on the forums to see if anyone had listed their row count so I could get an idea of how I was doing... Thanks everyone!

YAY!! mjk1234, I'm so glad to see this post from you!! A few days ago you said that you surrendered because you couldn't figure out the stitch pattern. But I'm SO GLAD to see that the video was able to help you!! Woohoo!! :bravo: I like your color combinations too. Very nice!

Finished Clue 2! It's been a fun ride. Can't wait to see the next one! (I had to crop the photo to get it to upload...)

All through with Clue #2 :D The top two were steam blocked. The bottom two still need blocking. What a difference the blocking makes.
