Am I in danger of running out?? I dont usually crochet so loosely and I am afraid I will run out of my color before I finish the afghan!! :helpme:

I am afraid of running out as well. I usually do not crochet so loosely either. I have had to stop holding my thread in order to get the gauge correct because I was putting to much tension on the thread.

Me too, I had to go up to an 8.00mm hook to get gage so I bought more yarn in my MC just in case but I worry if I have enough in the other colors... :?

I had to go up to a size 8.00 mm/L hook to get 11in, keep going bigger in hook sizes. I had to make 4 before I finally got it the right size!! who the heck can get 11 in with a size H or 5mm hook, they must crochet very loosely!

I used an H hook, and I crochet loosely. I used to crochet tight when I was younger, but it caused a lot of pain in my hands and wrists. Had to learn to relax, and let the yarn flow.

This pattern was designed for the Waverly yarn, which is a fluffy, soft yarn. Are you using that yarn? Some other worsted weight yarns might not have as much give as the Waverly does.

I stopped at the J hook with 10 1/2" because I was gettting very frustrated. You make a good point that it's for that specific type of yarn. Like others here, I'm using up some stash yarn (Red Heart/Caron). Maybe that's why we had such trouble getting guage also maybe that's why mine looks so lacey compared to some of the others?

I was lost on the directions and had to rip out the 5th row about 5 times and so I finally went by the diagram and mine looks

I'm all done with mine. I plan to wait to block until the very end. Looking forward to the next clue next Wednesday!

I could use help deciding which of the 2 reds to use as color A for the remaining 4 Clue 2 blocks. I can't decide whether to use Pink Suede or Porcelain Red. What do you think? Here they are next to the MC. My third color is Willow.

Personally, I like the Porcelain Red. But they are both good colors.

Thank you! I think Porcelain Red will make a nice Clue 2 block too. The only reason I hesitate is that then the color is pretty much used up and I won't get to use it again and I like it a lot. I appreciate your input. :)

After this block, we are done with color A except for small amounts for seaming, so if you like Porcelain Red for this block, use it. I too think it would look really nice in Porcelain Red.

With this clue, I only have maybe 1/2 a skein of color A left...is anyone else in the same boat? Hoping the rest of the clues don't use too much more of A...

I'm finally done with all of clue 2. I was a little scared when I saw it was intermediate. I have only been crocheting since Sept/Oct 2011. I had to redo my first one 3 times before I got it right. I didn't understand the charts before, they were confusing to me. Now I learned something new, how to read the charts. Can't wait for the next clue. :cloud9: :D
