I always use a steam iron on top of tHe wet towel, you just lay the towel on top and let it dry? Just wanted to make sure I have it right. Thank you.

Blocking instructions were given for Clue #1 for the KAL and the CAL, under the heading "Skills You'll Learn and Use". If you click the word "Blocking", it will take you to a video Bernat made showing how to block.

Some people are blocking as they go. Others are waiting until the end of the project, when it's time to seam. And some of us are blocking rebels - we are trusting that our seams will pull the blanket into shape.

Have you considered adding rows to your existing motifs instead of frogging and starting over? I am going around all mine with sc and may decide to add more rows if the finished afghan does not fit the area I plan to cover with it. I may also add extra border--lots of options.

The other option would be if your blocks match each other then so be it ... your finished afghan will be smaller than the prescribed one, but who cares?? It is yours and you can be proud of your work ... and also enjoy its individuality! One of my Aunts used to say that a blind man would love to see it ... so the errors are only in what you expect! Good Luck!

frogging and re-doing only takes about an extra yard of yarn... Time isn't the factor. Doing an extra round or two on the outside would take about 4 extra yards for the little ones, and 8 or 9 for the big ones. I'll just cover the knots and laugh *with* my hubby when he gets home and laughs at me tonight.

Thx, Shandeh! I ended up using my J hook (!!) and letting all the students in my class know that the final product will be smaller than I originally told them... because I'm not about to tell them they have to re-do all of their work! It's my OCD that makes me have to do it.

So if you spray it do you still put a damp towel on top of it? My first time blocking and I want to do it the easiest way and the way I can do it all at once. I just bought 4 packs of pins so I can do more than one at a time. If I use the towel I can only do a few at a time right?

No need to spray if you put a damp towel on top. The yarn will wick the moisture from the towel, and the towel will add weight to help "press" the project.
