It may sound silly but does anyone know if I did a clue one square starting with color 2 instead of color 1 will it mess up the final design? I finished my first square and started the next one with the yarn in my hand without thinking about it. It doesn't seem to be a huge difference but I thought I had better check.

I can't see it being a problem...I am thinking of purposely doing that when I finish my clue one squares...after seeing clue two I decided to change my colours around (glad I only had one square from clue one done!) Though I am wondering if I should up by needle size as my square measured 8.75 squared...I know I can block it out to 9.5 but would it be easier to change up?

Just be sure to keep your colors consistent throughout the KAL.
The color arrangement of the squares are very important to the design.

I am a big reader and love mysteries. My friend at work suggested this book, its a bit light....one of those "cozy" types....but is a quick read, and as I said got me hooked on the idea of doing a knitting circle and doing this mystery knit-along. I have completed one square and am almost finished the second. Its gonna be fun! Where in Canada are you?? I live just outside Ottawa in a small country town.

I live in BC about an hour away from Vancouver. I'll check out that book when I have read the ones in my pile on my bedside table :knit: I have learned too, the benefits of knitting and crocheting alongside others. It's really fun to make the same projects with other people too. I like seeing how the same stitches can come out looking different with different colours. :knit: :D

So I've finally finished my first four squares, in the mist of doing 15 hats for my daughters track team, a baby blanket for my 9th niece or nephew :knit: :knit: :knit: thats what I do. So I am off to start on the other four squares if my daughter would stop giving me :ire:

Thank you so much Grammy. My square has 3 very straight sides and 1 that is slightly curved...this is probably why. I will adjust my notes :) so glad I only have 1 square done.

Finally!! I finished Clue #1 and I am half way through Clue #2. I am using a yarn with stripes, it is my D color and watching that play out lessened the tediousness and switching back and forth from working on clues 1 and 2 also helped. Doing the purl stitch aggravates wrist pain so switching also helped with that. I suggest the forum add a FAQ section.

Well, so far, there haven't been any frequently asked questions.
The questions have changed with each clue!

Me too, me too, me too! I finished my last bit on the bus home tonight (what an adventure! To be repeated only in cases of dire emergency deadline crunches! :? ). Debating whether to stash some yarn in a tote for tomorrow since I'll be out all day - how can we wait for hours to start up again?

This is exactly why I bought a large enough purse to carry easily 4 large things of yarn and all my other stuff with me!

Back when I was working in NYC, and commuting took between 3 and 4 hours each day, I always made sure I had plenty of room in my briefcase for my knitting projects. If the project was simple enough, I would even knit while walking between the office and the train station.
Knitting for others makes the world a better place.

Yayayayayay! I only have one square left. I think I can get most of it done at lunch. I am so excited to start clue 2 this evening. My only drawback is that I chose Stone Brown. I am on a partial fast for Lent, and this chocolate colored yarn is not helping. All I think about is a giant bag of Hershey's Drops as I'm knitting. I am soooo gonna need an intervention when Lent is over. "No! I don't think I have a chocolate problem. No! I don't think a pound of Drops a day is excessive. No! Please! Not the veggies! Aggghhhh!" :scared:

I've given up on giving up chocolate for Lent. I'm giving up coffee instead. I figure I should be able to survive with teas and hot chocolate in place of my coffee.
