Nice! I think these mystery blankets are a good motivator to get things done. I wish all my other projects were mysteries!

Wow. It does make a difference!! They look great. What kind of steamer do u have? I want to steam block. How did u do it? Just pin it and run the steamer over it?

When you finish a Clue, you can go to the topic about Completion Badges and it'll explain how to make it appear in your signature area for when you make posts. They're a reward for getting your Clue done. There will be a new completion badge for each Clue. :D

Hey Marilyn, how are you steam blocking? I'm a bit wary with my hot iron and synthetic yarn. My iron does a lot of steam, which is great for cotton and linen. I haven't blocked anything yet - was still nervous about it. I've only done blocking with pure wool yarn to date.

After measuring and pinning to size I used our clothes steamer to block lightly. Depending on the amount of steam you need to stay at least an inch or two away from the yarn so it doesn't melt. Also, keep moving around on the block so you don't stay in one place on the yarn for too long. I only did this because I read a forum post that steam works well on acrylics. Otherwise I would have just wet blocked like I normally do. If anyone tries this please don't melt your squares  . I would feel terrible about that  .

I have been working on a different afghan on and off since before Thanksgiving and wanted to get it done before this KAL started. That did not happen.
Last night I finished Clue 2 and decided to work on the other afghan until the next clue comes out.
When I got the first afghan out to start knitting I realized if I put my clues together I have almost as much done on the KAl afghan as the first afghan.
I think the real mystery for me may be how these KAL's seem to get completed so quickly !

Thank you for this. I have only ever wet blocked and never bothered to block anything acrylic but seeing how much of difference blocking made for you I want to give it a try.
