I have two dogs. One is a fifteen year old chow mix called Kita. She is deaf and can't get up the stairs anymore so I carry her. The other dog is just two years old and her name is Chloe. She is a havanese mix and she thinks she owns the house. Actually she kinda does.

I REALLY enjoy reading about and seeing photos of everyone's companions! I know the cats and dogs and birds mean so much to their owners.
I have five little finches, and they have to stay in their cage. They are very busy little things and spend much of their time lining their nests with materials I provide. They love the tops of straw and unravelled hemp rope the most, and like shredded paper towels too. I knew they would like yarn ends, but I was so wrong, they never touched them. Those end were all acrylic yarn. This Christmas crocheted some presents using wool and gave those ends a try. The birds loved the wool yarn ends! Here is photo with some pink wool sock yarn poking out.

... that sounds like an AWESOME household, I love big dog/small dog contrasts! You'll have to post a photo of both of the dogs when you bring the dachshund home! (Or post a photo of the boerboel right now, because mastiff breeds are fantastic :D)

It reminds me of a photo I took a couple of years ago...

Yes, I thought that was pretty funny about the finches too. However, the cats can entertain themselves with all yarn, balled, rolled, and finished blocked items are the best to nap on! I spend more time getting out and putting away the yarn and project than I do working on them sometimes. Well most of the time. This AM my kitchen table is covered with all of another many colored project. Not my CAL though, it is hidden away.

Was reading about boerboels last night, too much dog for me! If nothing else they are about twice my size! I would be afraid I would not get them socialized properly. I am helping out at a farm nearby and the flocks are watched over by two Anatolians, one in each pasture. One follows me around and seems very sweet, but I have healthy respect for her! Then I was told the two Anatolians hate each other so I never go into the other pasture, don't want to start any trouble there.

Okay, I finally found some old photos of pets we used to have, before I became allergic to them.

Here's two shots of a hamster we had. My stepdad built a box that we could slide under the bed. We kept cedar shavings in it, and would put in a Fisher Price playground, and let the hamster play every night, before putting him back in his cage. What a hoot!
