I'm leaning towards, sundrift for main color, then incense, porcelain red, irish moss and willow for the contrasts. What do you think of my color choices? I really need some input here. I'm never good at picking colors.

My living room has the same colors, except chocolate brown instead of tan! I have been debating colors, and yours sound perfect! Mind if I "borrow" your color choices for my afghan?

I am curious if this afghan will also look good in a single color or just 2 colors?

Many times I like the stitches to be the main emphasis of an afghan, rather than the colors :D

Which one are you thinking of making? (knit or crochet?) The crochet in particular would look great in a solid color in my opinion.

For the knit one, it would be hard to plan correctly with just 2 colors, but we can try and help you work out a system for it.

I'm wondering about color choices as well. I was thinking of making this for our game room which has our favorite sports teams colors but mostly blues, reds, and gray. Having trouble determining the colors that will combine best from the Waverly selection but think I'll go with:
Tibetan Red | 55530 | Town & Country | 4 balls
Classic Navy | 55135 | Town & Country | 3 balls
Cadet | 55130 | Town & Country | 3 balls
Birch White | 55008 | Simplicity | 3 balls
Incense | 55435 | Beautiful Things | 2 balls

It sounds like your house is modeled after the "Beautiful Things" palette.

I love the colors you chose!

I just love being able to look at all the colors of the Waverly yarns all on one page, don't you?

Colours

Postby zhanie » Wed Jan 04, 2012 6:33 pm

Hi, I am perplexed about what colours to use but very close to making a decision.

I like the simplicity colour scheme. I think that the linen white being a main colour will really make the blanket pop out in my living room. My living room is dark brown and blue. I have green blue accents ( I call this turquiose - more on the bright blue side) and navy blue looks nice in the room too. I am thinking of following the recommended palatte but replacing turtle green with a dark blue or another blue that would work with aqua frost.

Or I could replace aqua frost and turtle green with blues from the past perfect pallette. I think I like the aqua frost more than any other colour, but it's hard to tell on the computer. Maybe I will have to go out and take a look at the colours in person at some point too.

I know that once I buy the wool, I will just love the process, but before I do, does anyone have any colour suggestions for me?

Thank you!

Love it! It's almost the entire "Beautiful Things" palette! You can't go wrong using a set created by an interior designer.

I had a hard time choosing my colors too.

And I noticed that my mind would change every day.

So, I decided to choose a set, write it down, and think about it for a day.
I even got my sister involved! (She lives in California, and I live in North Carolina)

I finally settled on a very light group of colors, using bits and pieces from almost every palette. My blanket will be used in my bedroom, which is very pale and feminine.

So, my advice to you would be to just give it a day or two before you settle on anything.
