sbeth wrote:Hi all...first time doing a CAL and posting on this forum. Unfortunately, the Waverly colors don't work for my bedroom, and it's hard to find Waverly yarn here. The two places I thought would have it don't. I have a project I'm almost done with and will get the motifs cranked out in no time as soon as I get yarn that will work with my room. Is it okay to post pictures even though I'm not using Waverly yarn?? :idonno: The yarn I will use in place will be medium weight..

Welcome! :hellogoodbye:
You'll find some others who are using different yarn for their blanket right here: viewtopic.php?f=191&t=1297&p=9353#p9353

Feel free to post photos - but keep them in the "spoiler" thread.

Re: Help with blocking squares for Clue #1

Postby Maggimay68 » Sun Feb 26, 2012 7:08 pm

Quick question: when you block the 12 squares for Clue #1, do you pin the chained corners, or stretch the sides to fit the sides of the template and ignore the chained part?

Thanks!

I haven't blocked my squares, but you can see a good photo of some Clue 1 squares that were blocked by Tiffanna here: viewtopic.php?f=121&t=1629&start=120#p14841

Kallene blocked some here: viewtopic.php?f=121&t=1629&p=15023#p15121

And you can see JustBets squares being blocked here: viewtopic.php?f=121&t=1629&start=190#p15689

shadesofred shows squares before and after blocking: viewtopic.php?f=121&t=1629&start=250#p16461

You can continue reading in that thread to see more examples.

Glad you're enjoying the mystery CAL! :D

A new clue will be released every Wednesday at 10 AM, Eastern Standard Time, until April.

Then will there be another Mystery Afghan CAL after we are done in April?

Actually thinking of doing the first CAL from 2010, it looks beautiful

You must have been reading my mind :hellogoodbye: This is my first CAL also, and I am already looking forward to possibly doing another.

I finding getting a clue a week is keeping me on track. I usually get overwhelmed when looking at a big project :scared: but knowing I just have to complete a clue/week is totally "doable". I am really enjoying this experience!

I'm also enjoying the clue-a-week! I'm trying to stay current and that gives me a deadline :)
