Mosaic Feather and Fan Scarf

Postby mittenmaker » Sat Feb 25, 2012 4:55 pm

Hi everyone :hellogoodbye: These photos are of my first project using Mosaic. Such a yummy yarn to work with--doesn't shred/split--the colors stripe beautifully. . .almost "cottony" feeling. . .I chose Spectrum for my scarf. It measures 6 inches wide and 43 inches long. I used 1 ball of Mosaic and size 7 needles. The project only took a few days of very happy work. :cloud9: :knit:

Hi zhanie and needlenut!  Thank you for saying the nice things about my scarf and my model, Philo Dog. He is special to me.
zhanie, I checked out the Mosaic pattern book on Bernat site. Nice patterns for knit and crochet. I would like to do another project in Ambrosia.

I like feather and fan stitch because it is SUPER easy and it looks way more difficult than it is! ;) Here goes:

Cast on 36 stitches (stitch seems to be multiples of 18?? :idonno: )
Row 1: Knit.
Row 2: Purl.
Row 3: Knit 2 together 3 times (yarn over, knit 1) six times, knit 2 together three times. Repeat across row.
Row 4: Knit.

That's all there is to this version! There Are variations of F & F, but I like this one the best as it is so quick and easy, only 1 row where you have to pay some attention; the results are wavy and lacy.

Have a good afternoon! :hellogoodbye:

Thankyou mittenmaker. I will try that when I have time. (at least three of the rows are easy lol). I will just have to pay attention a quarter of the time. It is very pretty. I like the crocheted mermaid cowl in that e-book. :knit: :crown: I still have another three pairs of slippers to make too! this KAL is taking up most of my knitting time, but I think it will be worth it. knitting makes such a nice soft comfy fabric.

Hi zhanie! I can't wait to see your afghan! That is an ambitious project--you go!
I will have to check out the mermaid cowl -- It's in Mosaic, right?
I find a lot of patterns I like (I call them "recipes") sometimes :? in crochet--which are so nice because of the lacy quality of crochet. I confess I'm crochet-impaired. . .  I just seem to need that second needle!

have you ever tried crocheting? I like it because you can't drop stitches when you crochet :hellogoodbye:

;) Hi zhanie! :hellogoodbye: I kinda sorta tried--I'm not too nimble with the hook. :idonno: But the fact that you can't drop stitches--now that gets my attention!
I tried looking for the mermaid cowl but I can't find it :(
