Would be prettier if we used a different color for the background to make the flower noticeable. Might do that for a separate project

It's up to you - we have solid-color motifs because there is an intended interplay between the solid colors of the larger motifs as the designer intended, but you can give it a shot and see how it goes!

ACK!!! I knew this was going wrong but I kept on hookin' anyway!
Not only can I see a BUNCH of errors... I must be crocheting a little tighter today, than normal. Just look how I had to stretch this thing to match the template. Going to start my 2nd block/motif now and I'll be sure to ease up on my tension.

I was really excited about my color choice; for a while it looked like a sunshine! I like it. I just wish it had remained a little more open, a little more lacey. But it will be warmer this way. :cloud9:

It's a good feeling when mine looks like all the others! Whew! :cooldude:

Oh, and I'd like to add that the chart and videos are a GREAT help. Thanks!

I know what you mean! I had to triple crochet the last 2 rows to reach the 11". I had to do the same with Clue #2 so I didn't stress about it :)

Here is my first block being blocked. I had to stretch it 1/2 inch to fit the template. I hope its right I went by the written instructions and not the chart. I got lost on the chart.

Ok, i just did this for another afghan. Used dusty rose pink for the flower and green for the outer part which looks like vines and petals. very pretty

lol, I was thinking the opposite. This CAL is taking me outside my comfort zone in that clue #2 is lacier than I normally prefer. It is a gorgeous 'square' though and I can't wait for my finished afghan!
Isn't it great that we can come together with one craft and one pattern and still each see it in a different way? I love looking at all the various color combinations.
My color C for clue#3 is Butter and I like your description of it looking like sunshine. For clue #2 I almost swapped my color A(incense) for my color C because I thought yellow flowers would look so nice. But, looking at this clue I'm glad I didn't.
