This leaves me 1 whole skein of my Contrast C left. I'm going to be disappointed if there are only 2 11" octagons and 1 4" square of this color in my whole afgan! Please say it ain't so!!!! :idonno:

You should have 4 with color C (of this octogon) and 2 with your main color.

OMG!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POINTING THAT OUT! I was just getting ready to start my 3rd in MC!!! I would have been SOOOOOOOOO angry if I wouldn't have caught that until I was finished! I bow to you excellent skill at reading the pattern and for pointing it out to me!!!!!! :bravo: :notworthy:

Already done with 4 of 6 it will be a long week for you waiting for the next block, I am amazed!!!! :bravo:
I am just finishing going through the 16 pages of forum, so I am now ready to start my first.

Yeah I am really quick at working things like this up. I don't know why, I always have been. I remember 10 years ago on my very first crochet project (a baby layette), my best friend who was teaching me had to keep telling me to slow down because I would go so fast I would mess something up and then just be a big ball of tears because I screwed up. Now, to be honest I might have to tear out one of the motifs because it is slightly small, but other than that, I only have 1 more to go and I will be done for the week. I am thinking about getting some of my scrap yarn out and doing a second one for my mother-in-law. I keep saying I want to make her something and this seems like a good project to do, since I seem to be able to work up all the motifs in a day or two. I feel like I am tooting my own horn, but really I don't know why or how I am so fast...it just comes naturally to me to be quick I guess. On projects like this I sort of wish I was slower because then I wouldn't have to wait a whole week before I could come back to it!

I redownloaded the corrected pdf file, but comparing it to the first download I see no corrections. What is the correction?

There was a change to Round 4 at the bottom of the petals. Instructions should have said sc instead of dc.

I'm not sure I saw your round 3 question? Maybe ask again. Things were moving so fast when the clue first came out that it might have gotten missed. I'm sure someone will be able to help.

It IS an interesting pattern!
I'm tempted to make some starfish, by making two of the stars and seaming them together. Would make a cool part of an ocean themed mobile, hanging at a window.

It could also make a pretty sunshine, if a face was embroidered on the center.

what a nice idea, maybe my grandsons would like to play with it too  :cooldude:

On the 4th round, in the next to last line, it says "1 sc in the next dc," which is how you kind of tie off that stretch that goes around the point. Shouldn't it be 1 sc in the next SC? That is how it looks on the diagram.

in round 4, after you do the 3ch to go around the point you will do a sc in next sc, then, chain 1, then skip the hdc and sc in next dc.

so you're right, you do one sc in the next sc, but it's written in the pattern that way:
"Ch 3.Working across opposite side of point, 1 sc in next sc. Ch 1.
Miss next hdc. 1 sc in next dc."

Okay, I too am having the same difficulty with Round 4 wording versus the chart...
So where it says "ch 3. Working across opposite side of point, 1 sc in next sc. Ch 1. Miss next hdc. 1sc in next dc. Ch 1. Miss next dc. 1 sc in next dc. Miss next dc.**1 sc in next sc." This is where the problem I'm having is, the part in red does not say sc, it says dc, but the chart looks like it's supposed to be in the sc, correct? :hrmm:

I can't for the love of me get 3 points in round 3...I have frogged and redone it several times...using all 3 methods...Somehow something isn't making sense to me...Brain and hook not coordinated today.

I did. Though mine aren't 11" after going up TWO hook sizes from Clue #1, Clue 2 & 3 are coming out the same size (around 10" or 10 1/2").
