I notice in one picture someone is using circular needles and in another single needles. Which is better? I have both but if there is something that works better, I'll try it. Clue one and two I have used the single needles. Suggestions?
I am a strong beginner knitter. Maybe not that strong since I only have 2 of Clue One, 3 of Clue Two.
Thanks!

I don't think one is better than the other for this project. Use what you like best. I and using circular's just because I prefer them.

Really it just depends on what you like to use better. I prefer to use circular needles, because I find the straight ones too long and they get in the way. I also find the circular needles easier on my wrists. But really it's all just preference. If I was teaching someone to knit I would probably give them straight needles first, but from there it would be their choice. Good luck with whichever type of needle you choose.

WOW! You are all such fast knitters. :bravo: I haven't finished all of clue 1 or clue 2. I only have one left on clue 2 so I hope to finish that today or tomorrow. I can't wait to start this one. It will be nice to use a different color.

Happy Stitching Everyone. :knit:

After using 4 different kinds of needles for this project so far I can tell you I much prefer working with my circular needles. They are shorter, so I can hold my work closer to me allowing me to rest my arms a bit better, so I am not as tense. I am only a beginner knitter, just a few dishcloths years ago. I had given up ever trying to learn to knit. This project has helped me so much in gaining confidence. Try switching to your circular needles and seeing if they are more comfortable. On your next row knit onto one of your circular needles to switch out (unless they are different sizes)

I had used:
Bamboo
Acrylic
Aluminium
and now Addi (steel?) circular

Thank you all for such quick replies regarding which needles to use. This is such a great group! I could spend the entire day on this site but knitting calls!

I am gaining the confidence to tackle my first knit garment after the KAL is over. Perhaps the shaker rib pullover that Shandeh posted on the Clue 2 thread.

Wonderful news! I have learned some things in this KAL as well! My first time doing Shaker Rib, and I like that pullover too. Maybe I'll join you in making one! I think I would like to add a turtleneck at the neckline, though.

Yeah, all we've done so far has been the "extra" colors. But, we will bring on that main color soon.

Yep. That's right!

No worries. Several of us are slow movers. I think my blanket will be finished in 2015.
