I can't for the love of me get 3 points in round 3...I have frogged and redone it several times...using all 3 methods...Somehow something isn't making sense to me...Brain and hook not coordinated today.

I think you mean "8" points? Make sure you have 24 dc in the row before first. Then, how many points are you ending up with? It might be "Miss next 2 dc. ** 1 sc in next dc." If you aren't skipping 2 dc, and putting the sc in the third dc from your previous stitch, you will end up with more than 8 points.

Question for admin:

On the 4th round, in the next to last line, it says "1 sc in the next dc," which is how you kind of tie off that stretch that goes around the point. Shouldn't it be 1 sc in the next SC? That is how it looks on the diagram.

in round 4, after you do the 3ch to go around the point you will do a sc in next sc, then, chain 1, then skip the hdc and sc in next dc.

so you're right, you do one sc in the next sc, but it's written in the pattern that way:
"Ch 3.Working across opposite side of point, 1 sc in next sc. Ch 1.
Miss next hdc. 1 sc in next dc."

Okay, I too am having the same difficulty with Round 4 wording versus the chart...
So where it says "ch 3. Working across opposite side of point, 1 sc in next sc. Ch 1. Miss next hdc. 1sc in next dc. Ch 1. Miss next dc. 1 sc in next dc. Miss next dc.**1 sc in next sc." This is where the problem I'm having is, the part in red does not say sc, it says dc, but the chart looks like it's supposed to be in the sc, correct?

This is the part that was corrected. The file that is uploaded now has the corrections. If you click on it and still get the old stuff, try refreshing (F5) and the new one *should* load. Same with the text only version.

I just came to check if there was a correction for round 4 but it looks like you speedy ladies beat me to it!
Although I'm impressed that I've been crocheting less than a year and I was able to figure it out on my own.

I'm sorry! I didn't know how to help you, because I didn't know the answer yet myself. I was using the chart to try to help me figure it out. Then JazzHooked figured out the problem, and Jen confirmed it. I found out the answer the same time you did, my friend.

I’m so happy! When I did the first clue #2 octagon it was 10”, so I re-did it with the same hook (5mm) only looser, and it came out at 11”.

For clue #3 I tried to crochet loosely, and my first octagon is exactly 11”!! Yay me!

It's your decision if you want to use more than one color. Of course, your blanket will look different from Bernat's original design. But, it's YOUR blanket.
