Crochet-Along Clue 3: Spoilers and Photos

ACK!!! I knew this was going wrong but I kept on hookin' anyway!
Not only can I see a BUNCH of errors... I must be crocheting a little tighter today, than normal. Just look how I had to stretch this thing to match the template. Going to start my 2nd block/motif now and I'll be sure to ease up on my tension.

Yeah!! Eased up my tension on the 2nd block/motif and...... well...... woo hoo! It's MUCH better than the 1st. I was using the "text-only" version, of this clue, for the 1st motif. When I switched to the pdf version, I noticed a difference in Round 4. More experienced crocheters probably wouldn't have noticed but... I didn't use common sense and I let it confuse me on the 1st motif. When working the 2nd... it made perfect sense. (The difference I noticed was directly after the **. In the "text-only" version it says, " 1 sc in next dc". In the pdf version it says "1 sc in next sc".)

Heres my clue 3 first block with my Contract C color Sundrift. It went well. I was worried because I've never done the tr2tog before but it seems to look like everyone else's so I guess it was right.

Here is my first block being blocked. I had to stretch it 1/2 inch to fit the template. I hope its right I went by the written instructions and not the chart. I got lost on the chart.

I soooooo love the way you have this blocked, crochetnut. Guess what I'm going to try?

Finished my first motif in my MC!
I switched to an I hook and it's 11 inches!!!
I love this CAL, having so much fun!!

I don't have any pictures, yet..... but got the first block done in my Dusty Mauve and it's the same size as clue 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and, even though it took me about 18 attempts (yes, I counted) to get the 2tog thing figured out, I finally did it!!!! And I'm not a pattern follower.

I looked at the chart a little bit, but figured it out mostly from the text - which is huge for me.

Are you the person who posted about the blocking kit and wires and is that what is showing on your photo? They look like they are a lot better to use than just pins as I have tried in the past. I am also wondering if knitting needles would work the same way as wires.
