I am getting a late start on today's clue--DH had to go shopping this morning. I am glad I took the time to read the posts already written--it sure helps to see what everyone has done. I don't consider this to be a "spoiler" thread--I look on it as an "incentive" since the great photos really inspire me. Thanks everyone!!!!

Finished my first octagon for clue 3. It's the same size as my clue 2 octagons, but they're all 9" so I'm thinking of making some changes to extended dc

I switched to an I hook and it's 11 inches!!! :D
I love this CAL, having so much fun!!

I also wanted to add that I did not break off after the forth round. I slip stitched up the side and continued from there. Worked out for me! :cloud9:

Done...
this is definitely going to be a good baby blanket pattern...I see yellow stars on a black background...

I don't want to sound like I'm bragging but I must be a better crocheter than I thought. This was an intermediate clue but I thought it was pretty easy...at least I have skills at something these days!

My clue 2 & 3 are all 9"as well. I figure if they all are about the same size there should be no problem. I will just end up with a smaller sized blanket in the end.

Are you the person who posted about the blocking kit and wires and is that what is showing on your photo? They look like they are a lot better to use than just pins as I have tried in the past. I am also wondering if knitting needles would work the same way as wires.

I posted about what the wires were for, so I'm using dbl pointed sock needles. Bought a pack at the sewing store that had 20 needles (5 different sizes) for 9.99 at Joanns. They are small in diameter and easy to use. They are 7 inches long.
Hope this helps.

That's funny! When at Michael's the other day I saw a pack like that and wondered if I could use it for stretching for blocking! Then walked away. I may run across my street and grab them later now!
(Yes, Michael's is across from my house!)
