Advice --- Opinions --- PLEASE!
I have finished one of Clue #3's blocks. I am not using Bernat Waverly yarn, but a yarn that is not smooth. I am not seeing a pattern in this block.... I believe it is due to not using a smooth yarn. Since a pattern is not evident I am wondering if I could just do Clue #1 for the remainder of the blocks for this clue. What are some of your thoughts?
I have added a picture of just the clue #3 block (close up) and one with clue #1 and clue #3 together.
Thanks!

Follow the pattern. Using Clue #1 will not make the finished afghan as interesting, plus, the knitting of the new stithes is much more interesting than just plain garter stitch, IMHO

It's your decision if you prefer to keep things simple by sticking with Clue 1. The color changes are the most important part of the blanket.

In your first photo on the pink and purple looking square I can see the 'brick' pattern on the purple side. The 'brick' side should be the decrease one. If this is right then I would keep working on clue 3. Myself, I am finding clue 3 to be going much faster than any of the other clues have. Then again all are taking me about 5 hours to make just one, so none are faster at all, just feels more interesting.
I love how simple this pattern is. I can't really see a design on the first side, only the second side on my squares can I see anything

I have a thought, on the Official Finished Images thread, would you be able to list what colours were used? I don't mean the actual colour, but the A,B,C,D,E code. This way we can see at a glance what colours were used so far! I keep referring back to my clues and still get mixed up. This would be so helpful, also on the CAL spoiler thread too.
Thank you.
BTW, I am having a blast working this all up. I enjoy most everything about this (all but the tinking)

Silver and amathyst just a bit lopsided. I like the wrong side of the first half of this square.

I've gotten this far on Clue 3 but when I changed colour and followed the pattern for the decreasing rows, my loops started appearing on the opposite side. Is it me or should we just knit one row after changing colour instead of knitting two rows?
