Finally figured out round 5! I had to go between the written directions and the chart to figure out where the Tr2tog went. The written instructions don't really tell you where to put it on the second point.

Shandeh, study the diagram and then look at the directions. At least that's what helped me to 'get it'. I looked at the diagram and then looked at the instructions, one stitch at a time and did that one stitch. Then looked at the next stitch, read instructions and did that stitch. Then I got the aha moment and it was smooth sailing! ;) You can do it!!!

I too used the chart a lot on this one. It really helped a lot. I've made 2 of my color C so far. When I made the second one I realized I made an oops in the first one but my hubby says if I don't tell anyone no one will ever know. :)

I can't wait to see what all this comes out to be. I keep thinking how I'd like to do these motifs with more than one color but I'm staying with the instructions for now. I figure I can always make another one with different colors later.

So far so good.

The diagram is a great help because it uses international symbols
Of course it's less mysterious, but so useful !!!

With this new clue, I'm now sure I'll do another one with different colours for the first rows, and a main color for only the 2 (or 3 ?) last rows ...

As I'm also knitting the  KAL, with long long clues, I'll wait a little .... (I like very much the result of the KAL squares, but they are really long to knit, and maybe too much "identical", - 8 in the same pattern and colors for this week - and that was a motive of desagrement for the last CAL with the 16 mittered squares, which are for ever in every knitter's memory, like a nightmare for some of them !!!!)

I posted about what the wires were for, so I'm using dbl pointed sock needles. Bought a pack at the sewing store that had 20 needles (5 different sizes) for 9.99 at Joanns. They are small in diameter and easy to use. They are 7 inches long.
Hope this helps.

That's funny! When at Michael's the other day I saw a pack like that and wondered if I could use it for stretching for blocking! Then walked away. I may run across my street and grab them later now!
(Yes, Michael's is across from my house!)

Don't I wish!!! The only store within 60 miles of our house that carries some needlework supplies is WalMart and they are soooo limited.

I would be in trouble if I lived that close to a Michael's! Would be there every day! Lucky you![/quote]

When they first opened a couple years ago we were there nearly every day. We would print off a bunch of coupons and towards the end of the week if we had extra coupons we dropped them off near the register so other shoppers could use them too. Now that they use digital coupons we never do that any more. It is funny how many people go into Michael's and do NOT know they can use a coupon if M's has one, and that most every week they have a 40-50% off one or 15-30% off all. It does make it nicer when I need more than one thing for a project, we just walk across the street, get one each, come home and repeat next day till I have enough for said project.

I saw this tip about the markers yesterday after I finished my first one. I started doing that and completed 3 more before bedtime last night. Only 2 more to complete today! I am loving learning the new things. :bravo:
