WOW! It must have been reading through all the posts before starting, but my clue 3 worked up easier than my first Clue 2 motif. :cloud9:

I have finished the 2 needed in my main color of clue 3, and they are the same size as my clue 2!!! I am loving all I am learning, and am surprized I have been able to figure out the chart, I have seen them in magazines before, and thought they looked too hard, but I have learned so much from this forum, and the CAL :)

I purposely waited for others to post pics so I could see them before starting this clue. I like seeing others finished products that way I know if I am on track.

This morning I took a couple of quick pictures of the motif I was working on with a couple of hints that I found helpful to me.

On round 4 I was having issues finding the right "remaining loops" from the chain after I made the petals. I went through each petal and on the one side only (the other side was easy to figure) I put stitch markers in each loop I was to sc in.

Then when I started working around the petals, I would move those stitch markers to the ch1 spaces so that when I come back around to do the dc and Tr2tog, I wouldn't have to "hunt" them down.

Not sure this makes any sense, but it's helping me with round 4 and to prepare for round 5.

Thanks for these pictures; they were a big help to me with getting my first octogon done last evening. I love your creativity in using paper clips for markers. ;)

Thanks!! I was at work when I realized I hadn't brought enough markers. I have used paper clips before though. They are a great help. I've seen people also use bobby pins.

Got the end and wondered why my block was so misshapened...floppy I'll call it...well it had 9 sides! By the way, that happened to me on clue 2 as well, but at least I caught that one before I finished it! I have a terrible tendency when I get to the end of a row to increase...which of course I did. So out the block came back to where the 8th point was...and sure enough, that was where I made an extra point. I was much quicker finishing it the second time :) And I now have an octogon! :) I felt this block "stretched me" as a crocheter which is part of the reason I am doing this CAL! My favorite block so far is block 2 which I think I will use that pattern to make a dishcloth! :)

and by the way, I love the chart that accompanies the clues...if I am a bit confused by the directions, the chart clears it right up
