parenthesis

In my pattern it reads+.[K2tog ] [yarn over knit one] 4 times. k2 tog.
then it says repeat from + to the end. do i repeat the beginning k2tog 4 times or just the yarn over,k4?

Which pattern are you using?
I'm wondering if the parentheses closes around the K2tog as you have it listed. Seems odd to me. I've never seen a single stitch in parentheses before.
