In fact, the KAL has long first clues, so my free time is shortened :scared: ... but I'm quite sure I'll try another CAL with stash yarns, in several colors :hrmm: as soon as I can see where we are going with the motives (for instance, for clue 2, I'll rather try with 2 colors for the center, and a third one for the last rows)

I was thinking the same thing. I love the 'flower' in the middle but the color for this for me is brown. Would be much nicer with a flower color in the middle and the dark olive green for the outside. Am waiting to see more of the overall pattern before I start changing things around. This is soooooo much fun. :hellogoodbye:

I keep reading about AC Moore stores and finally looked them up--the closest one to me is about 100 miles--bummer!! Sure wish there was one closer as I have never been in one and would love to go. We have Hobby Lobby, Michaels and JoAnn. The only store in my town that sells yarn is WalMart and the selection is not great.[/quote]

I did the same thing and found the closest to me is 387 miles -- way too far!!!

Hi
I am thinking of making a second one with an 8 mm hook and therefore a thicker yarn as a bedspread.
But I want to wait till I know how the first one turns out.
Does someone of you do this?

Yes I am. Matter of factly I am behind on my second afghan, still on clue 1. I thought i had enough yarn to do a second one so why not. Trying to get Clue 1 done today so I can get started on Clue 2. I hope I get all 3 clues done by wednesday so i am ahead. :knit:

There is a picture on the clue 3 spoiler using 2 different colors. The flower in the middle looks like a snowflake. Probably be good to make a christmas blanket or wintry color blanket.

I'm doing two as well! I'm doing both on the CAL because it looked like the KAL would take a really long time. I'm doing my first one with these colors:
MC: white
Contrast Colors: 4 different Blues

and my second one
MC: Black
Contrast Colors: White, Grey and two different golds (Iowa Hawkeye colors!)

This third clue has set me back though, I'm feeling behind but at least I have them all done for the first blanket. I've still got 5 more motifs on the second blanket to catch up on
