how do we get a photo to use with our name? I tried resizing a photo to 90 pixals and it still told me it was too big.

Here are the maximum dimensions for avatars in the Bernat Forum
width: 90 pixels, height: 90 pixels, file size: 19.53 KiB

So, make sure it's not too wide OR too high.
And look at the file size as well. If it's a bmp file, it might help to change it to a jpg file instead.

i tried setting the photo to 90 pixels and the file size was still too big. then tried at 60 pixels, also file size still too big. so guess no photos for my avatar I don't have any online photo things and don't understand how to use them either

You can post links to them, but you cannot embed them.
Just pull up the YouTube video, and copy the link in the address bar.

Why am i getting a notification that I am not authorized to see posted pics of finished squares?? anyone else getting this notice?

You need to be logged in to see other people's photos (ask me how I know!)

yay success with a photo for my avatar, finally! I took a photo with my phone then re-sized it with paint. Finally got a file small enough to use.

Thanks so much for your helpful tutorial on how to upload pictures. I kept looking at the buttons above the box where I was typing and didn't even notice the "Upload Attachments" tab further down the page...even though I did go there to click the "notify me" option. CeceTx
