I wish I could see a photo of that tartan blanket!

I know this post was a long time ago, but I finally got a few pictures of the blanket form my Dad. :) The quality of the photo is not great, but you get the idea. :geek:

Beautiful! I love it! :bravo:

That's super! Do you know where I could find information on crocheting a tartan? I'd love to do one in my family's for... anybody in my family, really.

I bought “A Few More Tartans” from this lady: http://www.jennykingdesigns.com/books-1/Book-Author/Jenny-King a few years ago. She’s got 2 books with tartan patterns. I think there’s some free patterns floating around the web these days too. :)

Hi Cathy! :)

Welcome to the Bernat Forum. :hellogoodbye:

Right now, most of us are busy making knitted and crocheted blankets together. It's a Mystery Blanket, with a new clue released every Wednesday at 10 AM EST. We are just now working on our 3rd clue, and it's fun to see our blanket motifs and squares taking shape!

Feel free to come and read our discussion, and join in if you want. It's never too late to start.

Of course, you are not required to join the Mystery Blanket project. Just wanted to let you know about it.

How long have you been knitting and crocheting? What kinds of things do you enjoy making?

We look forward to getting to know you better here.

Do you knit and/or crochet? Mostly crochet but some knitting.

How long have you been knitting and/or crocheting? over 40 years

Where are you from? Southwestern Ontario

What are your favorite things to make? Anything for my grandkids and kids. :-) I tend to go through streaks of what I make. Lately it's shawls. but I love doing sweaters, baby stuff, stuffed toys. Almost anything at some time or other.

What other hobbies do you have? My husband, retired, and I love to take short road trips through Ontario. We take our digital cameras along taking hundreds of photos. There is such a variety of landscapes in Ontario. We love nature and take great delight in finding new birds and wildflowers and waterfalls ... etc. :-)

Along with editing the photos, I like to write stories with a bit of romance, a bit of fantasy and/or historical.

But my favourite thing to do is spend time with my family. I've a wonderful husband of 37 years and 4 grown kids and 3 wonderful grandchildren.

We really do have beautiful landscapes in Ontario! Algonquin park is probably one of my favorites, but I also enjoy just taking short afternoon hikes anywhere I can find them :) You must have some beautiful photos from your adventures!
