First time I do a dishcloth with Super value, You're right Shandeh, I like the scrubbing quality on my stove, but surely I will make more with either super value and cotton

I think I am going to make a dishcloth with Bernat Super Value to, I should have left overs from the purses I am making. When I was making my first Mermaid Tears Purse this weekend I kept thinking that this yarn had a cotton feel to it. It wasn't rough like I would expect from an acrylic. I think that at this moment this is my favourite yarn. :cloud9:

Plus I just keep the mistake ones - since who can't use another in their pile - and give away the 'perfects'

I like that plan! No need to worry about making mistakes, because it just adds more to my linen closet!

Interesting! So, you just wash it out and re-use it! Very earth-friendly, I must say. :D

Oh dear! I KNOW how painful dental problems can be. I just had an abscess last week. I hope your pain goes away very soon.

I agree about the Super Value yarn. It is definitely softer than some of the other 100% acrylic worsted yarns on the market. I noticed it when I was making the Star Afghan for the Bernat Blog.

I made this one with Scrubby in the centre, Lily'n Cream around it, then I ran out of the ball so did the last row in Handicrafter Hot Purple, that is virtually identical in colour to the Scrubby Purple - was so close to making another one like my first! This does take a bit more time than my usual square dishcloths but much nicer to look at!
Oh, yesterday I said I made a mistake and put 13 petals on. My husband helped me tonight, he found some photos on Ravelery of others who have done this cloth and all of them have 13 petals. And no matter how you work it, you cannot get 12 petals into 40 stitches! I do wish the instructions had been more clear, I would not have wasted an hour trying to fix what was NOT broken! LOL

Interesting! So, you just wash it out and re-use it! Very earth-friendly, I must say.

Yes, I found a free pattern online and they look almost like real cotton balls. So I made a ton, think I got 35 or so from one ball, I kinda forget, they were Christmas gifts in 2010, along with eye make up remover from Avon. They do stain, but who cares if only you use it! I found Cottontots for like $1.50 a ball so picked up 5 and just kept making the cotton balls till I ran out.

Oh I remember your pain! Mine can't be as bad, then again, they did have to go in and remove an old post from my old cap cuz it broke completely in half. And then fill the hole and stitch it, and cuz I was out already they filled old neglected cavities and did a cleaning and who knows what else. The pain has been nearly unbearable that I cannot even sleep since the freezing wore off. It was thanks to your saying you used ice packs that has helped me so much, I keep freezing my upper lip and cheek for a bit of relief.
I tried knitting a square from clue 1 and I could not hold the needles tight enough so ended up knitting too loose, which is why I am working on dishcloths and not CAL's or Kal's

You poor thing! That was a LOT of dental work, all at once.
Did they give you pain medicine? Antibiotics?

I can't hold my hook or needles effectively right now, so after making two flower cloths I made a round scrubby. This dental work is putting me behind on the CAL / Kal's! Went to bed last night and the hand they put the IV into was all swollen, I think cuz of holding the needles / hooks. I had some pain meds, but it wasn't strong enough, so had to get hubby to go back and get me a stronger prescription, and this one only works for a few hours before it wears off. Waiting for the magic 48 hour mark of when the tide should turn and I start feeling better.
