Crochet-Along Clue 3

As a newbie I am having trouble wrapping my brain around the ball/skein as it pertains to the amount of yarn needed for a project? Is the way the yarn sold in the stores a ball or a skein? With all the yarns sold in different lengts how do you know how much one ball is? I am hoping I purchased enough yarn for the CAL

A ball and skein is pretty much the same, if you look on the packaging it should tell you how many oz's is in one.

Have you tried working on both at the same time? I have found that I can finish all the motifs for each clue in about 3 days. They are really simple and work up quickly. I, myself, have 3 afghans in process in addition to a full time job and weekend grandchildren. Somehow I even manage to squeeze in time for my hubby

Finished Clue #3 I took this opportunity to lay all the motifs side by side, and now I am a bit concerned about my color choices. I used the Color Palette thingy, but seeing them all side by side one color has me worried. This is where I also have a difficult time. I am not good at color coordination. That is why I relied on the Color Palette. I am going to stay positive that when they are all put together that it will create a great blend of colors.

Which colors did you choose?

Finished afghan #1's clue #3 motif!!! Tomorrow, I will start afghan #2's clue #3 motifs....takes me about 30 minutes to finish one motif. I can get two done on the drive to and from church in the morning!

Someone ELSE is doing the actual driving.....right?

Trying to keep up with the blocking so got some motifs out and started pinning way.
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,...9? Yep,9petals! That was the only #3 I had done!
Between that and the Prairie Home Companion joke show, I am having too much fun!
Time to put those WIPS away and get started on clue #3 !

Went with Birch White as the MC. Other colors are Aqua Frost, Butter, Colonial Beige, and Turtle Green. When I received the yarn all the colors seemed to go together really well. Working up the Colonial Beige, it seems to have more of an olive green color to it. That seems to clash with the Aqua Frost. Tell me it will be beautiful when it is all put together

I'm left handed and always just do any pattern I've used exactly as it is written. My mother who is right handed can not figure out why mine come out exactly right all the time! So, I say, just follow along! That's what I'm doing.

Exactly! Your work is probably a mirror-image, which is exactly the same!
I teach knitting to two young girls who are left-handed, and we learned that from experience. It's probably the same with crochet.
