some diligence on my part to make sure which row I'm on. I hate having to pay attention ! lol
I'm going to start marking the row I'm on with a pencil dot in case I'm interrupted at any point.
Just finished my first square, and found an easy way to track what row I was on (well it worked for me, anyway). What I did for the WS/odd-numbered rows was to find the first k1 below st from the prev WS row, follow that st up to my needle, and started counting back towards the beginning with p,k,p etc. knowing that the first st was always k. So you start with either 1 knit st or 2 knit sts.
Hope this helps someone else!

Okay, I finally got time to sit down and seriously look at this weeks clue. I like your suggestion Knittycrocheter... Similarly I find that if, when you are ready to do a ws pattern row, you just have to look at the previous rows first k1b, or I see it as the first vertical V row and count back to the first st on the needle... if there are 4 stitches before it, it is a K1 row.. if there are 5 sts before the first vertical V row it is a k2 row. Hope this makes sense, it is hard to explain.
I too want to say I am loving the mystery of this project. I've been knitting like crazy to keep up but love every minute of it. I just have to not let myself get stressed over all the other things that aren't getting done because I am knitting. At least my husband sort of understands, but my daughter thinks that the baby sweater I'm knitting for my granddaughter should be finished by now! Oh well, perhaps once there is catch up time with this afghan I can finish off that sweater. I just hope she doesn't outgrow it before I even get a chance to finish.. unfortunate for me baby's grow quickly!
