I keep looking at your coat. it is just so beautiful! Could you take a photo of the front too? I have imagined so many possibilites.

That is an amazing pattern! I love how the cabling makes a sort of flirty flounce around the bottom, and then it being in a plain pattern mostly through the front, it looks like at the top on the sides the cabling helps shape the bustline. It really is lovely. Often so many patterns have such a decorative front, and the back is so plain which is so disappointingto me. Also, don't know, but just guessing, that the cabling in the back helps the seat of the coat from stretching all out of shape like happens with so many long items. I guess you can tell I am really taken with this pattern, especially the use of the cabling design serving so many functions. Almost wants me to learn to try and knit! Thanks for posting the photo too....You did such a lovely job crafting your warm coat!

Thank you, you are right, it is an amazing pattern, I was also taken by this pattern and it was imperative to have it,so I did get it and started it. I encourage you to try! When you come across such a pattern you find ways to achieve it. It is challenging, but so rewarding not to mentioned "eye catching" ;) :D
