Technique from KAL Clue #1

Postby Trudi » Thu Mar 08, 2012 7:46 pm

Advice ---- Opinions!

I am wondering if I can use the pattern from Clue #1 to make a 60" x 60" afghan/throw....... Has anyone used this technique to make something this large?

I thought it might be a great way to use up left over yarn from other projects.

Thanks!

I imagine you can Trudi. This is my first ever Afghan and have recently started a little knitting group and 4-5 of us are making this Mystery Afghan. We are all so far behind, still knitting up Clue #1 LOL. I have even got to the point where I can knit without the pattern now, and am enjoying it very much. Some of the girls in our knitting group were worried they couldn't do the next clue, so I told them....if its too hard, just use Clue #1 and make your Afghan your way. It will still look lovely, however you put it together.

I am pretty sure this is the basic pattern for a quick baby afghan, just be sure you use circle needles and that the 'rope' (forget the name) is long enough for all the stitches that would end up on your needles at its widest point. I would also think you could modify it and just work increases on one side once it is as wide as you want it in order to make it longer so it doesn't end up square - not exactly sure myself but it seems to make sense in my head! :hellogoodbye:
