Hi from the Upper Hunter Valley region. I set my alarm for 2am. Checked the clue then went back to bed. I'm doing the CAL.

Hello From Australia

Postby DeanneSM » Thu Mar 08, 2012 7:46 pm

Hello everyone!!

I just found this forum today and am ready to join in with the CAL. I have belonged to Bernat for ages but only just found the forum today while blog hopping. No idea how I didn't know you were here before

Just wanted to say hi. I am just browsing through the forums at the moment to get a feel for the neighbourhood ;)
Seems a pretty friendly place to visit and very inspirational, so I think I might just move in :)

I am a SAHM who knits, crochets, make cards, cooks, teaches knitting/crochet/cardmaking (not necessarily in that order) and gets around to the housework whenever :) Also slightly obsessed with FB games, but trying to wean myself off - wasted crochet time that is lol

Looking forward to getting to know some of the lovely folks here in the forum.

Dee

Hi,Dee. Welcome to you and Australia from Michigan, the mitten state in the U.S. Your name caught my eye as I dearly love it. My daughter is named Deanne, but when she got married she legally changed it to DeAnne because many people figured it was a boy's name. When she started High School, she was put in boy's phys-ed. That's when she started writing her name with a capital A. I also have a daughter-in-law Deanne who goes by Dee. Imagine the confusion when we are all together. LOL

This 2012 CAL is very neat. I'm loving the different patterns of the blocks. Can't wait to get it put together. Hope you have some time in your busy schedule to work on this one. On the boards as "Whoisit". Arlene

Hi Arlene. Thanks for the welcome.

I have the same problem but with the name jack/john.

My dad is John Athol, but goes by Athol. My younger brother is John, goes by Jack to his wife and her family, so we call him Jack/John. Have a brother in law who was Jeremy, now is John, so he is Jeremy/John. Also have a nephew Jos (Jack/John's son) and my own son Zac. Plus my cat is Jack (BlackJack). So imagine our family - Jack, John, Jeremy John, Jos, Zac, Jack!! hahahah makes for heaps of funny and getting the names wrong :)

Hi, I am from Geelong, Australia, Over the other side of the country. Have joined the KAL but I am miles behind. I hope to finish it for a friend's birthday, but it is a work in progress. Just love to pop into the forums and see what everyone is up to. It is wonderful to learn from so many people and some of the designs offer great ideas. Thanks to you all and will keep on knitting.
