Now as I look at the pictures I'm wondering if I should have stuck with the Butter :idonno: You can see the difference between the Butter and Sundrift in these comparison photos. I'd love to hear what others think about this colour combination. If I switch back to the Butter I'll have to redo all of Clue 3, which was the one clue I hated most, grrr!

I'm making this as a surprise for my Sister and I want it to be gorgeous so I'm willing if it's necessary. It was hard to get proper colour in the pics. It's too dark for no flash but the flash washed out the colours completely so this is the best I could get.

I think the "Butter" looks like the sunshine at the beach.

this isn't the same problem, but i meant to post this before and forgot.
After finishing round 3, I found there was a gap at the join - when joining round 2 and beginning round 3, if you sl st into the top of the ch 3 turning chain which started round 2, then ch3 to start the dc of round 3....the turning chain 3 of round 3 hangs to the side of the popcorn below, instead of directly above it. After the round is complete, it leaves a gap between the turning chain and the first dc in the ch 1 space next to it.

I fixed it by joining round 2 w a sl st in the ch 1 AFTER the first popcorn of Round 2. Then Round 3 comes out with almost no gap.

I don't have pictures because I did all of them this way. If anyone wants me to show what I mean, I can put that together and post pictures.

Did anyone else do this?

I did that also when I saw the gap. I love this square and plan to use stash yarn to do a flower garden afghan--will probably add a few rows around the outside to make it a little larger.

Willow colourway. First time I've ever done the popcorn stitch and I loved making these squares!

I didn't think of that either. I did the round 2 slip stitch into the chain 3 (beginning popcorn of round 2) but then also slip stitched into the center of the round 2 beginning popcorn to make the chain 3 for round 3. Hope that makes sense.
