And here is Jelly Bean, our guinea pig. I had to donate him to the 3rd grade teacher, so her class could enjoy him every day.

Shandeh, so cute! I love the swinging hamster photo! My mentor had a calico Guinea Pig named Faith. Very sweet. She bit my finger once, she was just curious. . .no harm, no foul. She was quite adorable.

I have 3 dogs. The first one I got was supposed to be a Bichon Frise...she's not. At best guess we've got her figured for a Terrier mix of some sort. Her previous owner decided she had too many dogs and posted an ad on Freecycle so I went and picked her up...all scragly and terrified and hungry looking. Her name is Precious. My second one is a Toy Pomeranian. I got her from my mom. She's a total spaz, but I'd be lost without her because she's the one that cuddles up in my lap when I crochet. Her name is Boo. My newest acquisition is a gorgeous black Cocker Spaniel that just kind of showed up in the yard one day. He's been mistreated sometime in his life and is a little leery of new people, but he adores our 20 month old son. So, we've decided he gets to stay. His name is Wally.

They all have such distinct personalities and are so funny. I would be lost without them because they're all such good dogs even with their odd little personality quirks.

Hi laceyj1204! I liked your post, esp the part about Wally! I am so glad he has a good home with you!
My dog, Mr Jingles, is also a black Cocker--his picture is on this thread. I love him so much. . .I love dogs, but cockers are my special loves. :inlove:

A long time member of a rescue boards had devastating tragedy yesterday. Of three dogs, all needed extensive surgery, one passed away, ones chances are iffy, one is expected to make full recovery. I guess the diligent person checks all the toys every day for wear and tear. I think that is pretty impossible for any of us. I know even a darn stick can be dangerous and poke their eyes out, but nonetheless, with the apparently high risk of intestinal blockage that comes with rope toys, seems best not to have any around in the first place.

"I had never bought rope chew toys before. But two weeks ago I saw the really big ones at the pet store where we have our adoption days and bought 2 to see how the dogs would like them. I bought the big ones because I didn't want them swallowing the small ones. In doing so I made a horrible error because the larger ones have individual strings 2-3 feet long when the toy unravels. They loved the toys and played with them endlessly. The vet told me rope (string) chew toys are one of the leading causes of death in dogs from intestinal blockage (magnets, of all things, are right up there with string). Google "dogs intestinal blockage string". I would have never believed it had I not experienced it today. "

I love seeing the pictures of everyone's fur and feather kids. They are all just adorable. I have two Yorkshire Terriers and a Malchi X Yorkie.
First is Baby Sweet Pea, 6 yrs old, 3¾ lb Diva, and service dog. She just loves to wear pretty clothes and have her "Spa Day". She rules her little brothers with an iron paw. She considers herself my second in command. This little Yorkette truly earns her kibbies, she has a hard job looking after my health issues and keeping me safe.
This next picture is Prince Rafael Zane. He is a year old pure little mischief maker, Yorkie.
And last, but not least, is Cailan Angelo Reese, 10½ mos old Malchi X Yorkie. I consider this little mischief my little rescue boy. I was in the pet store getting a few things on a Monday and he was going to be PTS'd on Thursday. He was perfectly healthy and very sweet, just no one wanted him because he lost the genetic race. So being the big softy that I am, I bargained down his price and got the store to give me a year of vet care and brought him home. I couldn't stand the idea of him being PTS'd just because no one had even looked at him for 3 mos.
My Avatar is Baby Sweet Pea driving my semi truck on I-15 in Montana. Yep, she was a little fur trucker.

Stitchintraveler, such tiny little dogs! They are precious. Didn't matter about the photo order, they are labelled! ;)
Did you train Sweet Pea to be your service dog? I am sure she provides you much comfort.
Poor little Cailan, thank you for finding a spot in your heart and home for saving him. I bet after he settles in and gets through puppy stage, he will repay you with unlimited devotion. It is just criminal in my opinion that you had to "bargain" for him when store was going to PTS anyway. That is just so sad, but unfortunately most pet shops view animals as commodities and not deserving lives.
