I enjoy seeing everyone's different color choices!! They are all beautiful and I think it is so neat how each afghan will have a different personality. Here are my first four clues all together...

Another way to minimize the gap you get when you start a round with a ch 3 is to ch 2 and then slip stitch into the first full dc instead of the top of the ch 3.
There is also this method: http://sarahlondon.wordpress.com/2009/08/10/seamless-symmetrical/

I got really bored with this motif so I took a break between my two afghans and made a purse then I decided to test out my different hooks on the second afghan. I happen to have 5 different hooks all in size 5 so I made 5 squares with a different hook each. Here are my results
The yarn did not flow smoothly over my Provo Craft interchangeable hook (4) or the grey one (2).
The yarn loved the other 3 hooks, my hand much preferred the Clover purple hook (5) in the end. It was larger so it fit better. Then again, had the yarn loved my PC hook (4) it would have ended up being my favourite to hold.

I had thought the two clover hooks would be different, visually the purple clover (5) looks larger than the orange clover (3) and they were the 2 I started the experiment with. Boredom made me hunt down all my other 5 hooks and test them out too!

So in the end, I achieved perfect gauge with each hook despite their differences. I know there are more size 5 hooks out there, just not in this house! I cannot tell the difference between squares. So what hook you use should make little difference to the end result. Hope this helps someone

Love how this one pops! (Both color and texture) :)

You know, I just realized that from the beginning of our CAL, Jen has been referring to our Color D as the "pop" color. Isn't it funny that it turned out to be "pop"corn stitch?

Very funny! ;)

That is what I ended up doing to minimize the gap. Slipping into the DC worked much better.

Interesting crochet hook test! Sometimes, I've heard people complain about a yarn, and I've always wanted to tell them to try a different hook or needle, to see if they like it better. It really does make a difference, doesn't it?
