HUllo!!

This is my first CAL and I am late lol. I have belonged to Bernat for ages but didn't realise there was a forum! duh! lol. This is where I have been >> :scared: lol.

Hoping I understand correctly - 1 CAL per month, creates 1 large afghan using the blocks from each clue. Yes?

If not, could someone please enlighten me?

I am a long-time crocheter and I actually teach knitting and crochet to a lovely group of ladies in a local community group. We are currently making a CAL bag. Great success so far in most cases.

I am looking forward to playing along with this CAL, as I really like the look of all the blocks.

Welcome to the Bernat Forum, Dee!
Our forum just got started in January, so it's brand new. :) So you are joining in at the start!

No, the current Mystery Blanket CAL/KAL will last for 15 weeks. A new clue will be released every Wednesday at 10 AM, Eastern Standard Time. Right now, we are in Week 4, so you've joined at a good time.

You can read all about the Bernat Waverly Mystery Blanket 2012 right here:
http://www.bernat.com/2012mysteryafghan/

We will also be doing smaller projects that will not last as long as the big blanket project.
You can see those here: viewforum.php?f=253

This is my first time doing a CAL as well. I finished clue 1 early and was working on clue 2 when my mom went into the hospital for almost a week due to small strokes in her brain stem. She's been home just over a week and doing better. I'm almost finished with clue 3 and can't wait to start clue 4. I even have the house to myself most of the weekend since my fiance' is visiting his kids this weekend and my son has soccer games, work and will be at his fathers. Hopefully I can get through clue 4 before my fiance' gets home so I can tackle some of the cleaning I wanted to get done before he got home.

Hey Shandeh, thanks for your reply. I was a bit lost to begin with but I think I'd figured it out by the time I just read your reply :)

Can't wait to see some of the smaller projects too. Pity there aren't more hours in the day tho ;)

Just have to remember to pop in and check out the clue each wed (Thursday here, since you guys are 12 hrs behind us).

Thanks again for the helpful info and links. off to check those out now

While joining can be tedious, I do love watching the pattern taking form. There is nothing so satisfying as that last stitch and unfurling my finished creation for the first time. :)

Thanks for the great reminder. I am taking a break from joining black edges with black joining yarn on an afghan for my sister's new house--really gets my eyes!!! I don't mind the joining--would just like to be able to see it a little better--use sunlight when possible. I hope she is as excited about receiving it as I have been at making it--my DH and I chose colors that match the rug she has under her pool table--should be interesting!!!!
