I just do not have the confidence I guess it is, to learn to knit. I guess I should at least watch the KAL videos and see if it is something I might could get the hang of. You are so lucky you are "bi-crafty" and can do both so well!

Thanks! I was going through a difficult time in my life, and my therapist told me to make some goals. One of my goals was learning to knit! So, I bought a skein of red yarn, some size 10 knitting needles, and sat down in front of my computer. I watched the same knitting videos over and over and over again, until I finally got it.

I have done the same thing with every stitch I've learned. Searched for a video online, and watched it over and over again.

I also took one class on how to fix mistakes. And another class for fair-isle knitting.

I have a real love for knitting, and it has become a big part of my life.

But, just 8 years ago, I didn't even know what a purl stitch was.

So, don't say you can't do it. YOU CAN DO IT! Just be patient with yourself, and take it one step at a time.

When I first started knitting, I spent over 4 months just doing the knit stitch. I made lots of different projects in garter stitch, and learned how to fix mistakes in garter stitch as well. I took my time learning the purl stitch, and learned how to fix mistakes in that as well. Then, I learned to knit in the round, so I could make a hat. Then, I learned how to make cables for a scarf. (Never did finish that scarf! Ha!)

I am still learning today.....and have gained an appreciation for crochet as well.

wow you get a lot of projects done! If I would just concentrate I might get half that many in that many years! I flit from craft to craft too easily, but I always return back to crochet.
After the two alongs I sure hope knitting will become my return to craft!
I especially love your sweaters! It is inspiring to see all your different projects!

Thanks for the love! :)
I was motivated to finish those projects, because I was asked by Bernat to knit a new project every month. If I didn't have the deadlines, I would have taken a LOT longer to make them.

It was fun blogging. I learned so much! I blogged from October 2009 until December 2011. There were several other bloggers as well. I wonder if any of them are participating in this forum now?

Have fun! I love using that yarn. It is such a sweet, delicate fiber. :cloud9:

Using Bernat's new ruffly yarn "Twist & Twirl", I finally finished a ruffle scarf for my Mom.

It's been quite a while since I've posted anything about my personal Bernat projects. I've been busy making KAL and CAL projects here with all of you, so that's mostly what I've gotten done.

This cowl was quick work, using Bernat Fab Faux. I LOVE THAT YARN!

I just love the little "Monster for Your Love" we worked on as a KAL here in the Forum. I used Bernat Satin for the monster, and Bernat Mosaic for the heart.

We did a CAL in the forum for Dishcloths, and started off with Chrysanthemums. So pretty!

I used this little Seed Stitch Coin Purse to teach forum members how to knit. Fun :D

Our Slouchy Lace Beret KAL is very popular, and I am so proud of the beret I completed!

Making Baby Booties with beginning crocheters was a real treat. :)

And knitting Cup Cozies for beginning knitters was fun too.

I'm still working on some other Bernat projects, so I can't post finished photos yet. Stay tuned!

Here's the hat I made when we did the Basic Cap Knit Along, using Bernat Mosaic yarn.

I'm still finishing up my "On the Lace" Cardigan, which we've been making as a CAL here in the forum.

And I'm about halfway through my "Ankle Socks" - here's our KAL for that.

I'll post photos soon!
