Creativ Festival just posted this link that I thought might be very useful for someone here having trouble with this purse.

It is long

Part 3 has the handles. I certainly did not do mine the way he did! No wonder mine look off! I almost did it his way, but I inserted my hook back into the loops the opposite way he did, which is how I came out with a completely different look.

Thank you for posting this, I will definitely have to check the video out. Icompleted bombed on my attempts at the handles and ended up doing something different. But I would love to figure it out for the future. Thanks! :bravo:

I finished my purse. The handles were the hardest part. I watched a video that someone posted on how to do the handles. I thought mine came out looking different than the original pattern. Looking back at the video again, I notice the "author" is crocheting left handed. Would this be why mine seem a little different? I really like the look of the purse though and the handles turned out just fine. Thanks for the video. I never would have thought to remove the hook by pulling the hook end first. I kept trying to pull the hook through 8 loops and kept getting snagged. LOL. Thats what happens when you dont think outside the box I guess.

It is gorgeous!! nice work, love the colours!!! :bravo: :bravo: The video uses a slightly different technique on the handles than the pattern. In the pattern it says to only pick up the end stitch, in the video it says to pick up the first and last. But hey, it looks terrific both ways :) You must be proud. :)

I made this very amateur video of me making a handle. I accidently had my webcam on "mirror image" so it looks like I am left handed too!!! But it may give an idea.

I started one. I just love modern crochet patterns that get me excited. I'm old school granny squares all the way but this purse is just the right amount of gorgeous and understated.
