Knit-Along Clue 5 (Week 6)

Postby Kaleigh » Wed Mar 21, 2012 10:00 am

We’ve been seeing a lot of fantastic afghan ideas in the Blanket Possibilities thread, so now it’s time to find out how everything really goes together! If you kept your ends long, this is the step you use them up. If you didn’t, don’t worry! Just seam with whatever you have left of Contrasts B, C, D, or E. Remember that it’s highly recommended you block before you seam, which you can read about in last week’s thread.

This week’s PDF will show you how to put the blanket together, but the recommended design isn’t mandatory! If you prefer one of the other designs in Blanket Possibilities, please feel free to get creative! The border will work the same as long as your design is 4 motifs wide and 6 motifs long.

DOWNLOAD KAL CLUE 5
Download the blocking template - please print as "actual size" on your printer. NOT as "fit to page"
Plain text version. Please note that this file still contains graphics.

Helpful notions:
  • A large-eyed, blunt darning needle
  • What's left of Contrasts B, C, D, and E
Skills You’ll Use

If you have any questions, this thread is the place to ask and answer!

Please do not post any photos to this thread. They belong in the "Knit-Along Clue 5 (Week 6): Spoilers and Photos" thread!

When you're done sewing together your afghan, why not pat yourself on the back and add a badge to your signature?

Just open the User Control Panel's "Signature" page. In the field where you type your signature, add the code below and you'll be able to show off your progress! It's a good idea to replace last week's badge with this one so your signature isn't cluttered :)

I click on the download clue 5 and I get an error report. Is this just my computer or the file?

I'm getting an error message too - it says the file is damaged.

I get the same thing - something about the file is damaged and cannot be repaired.
