Hi all! :hellogoodbye:
I'm so glad I forgot to check in at 10:00! 6 pages of hurry up and fix it notices! I guess we are addicted! I just logged on and opened the clue with no trouble. I am very happy to see that there are different options for combining the squares, as that will make the design more flexible for different colours of yarn. I was actually hoping that there would be a few different style possibilities along the lines of the colour and style "families" of the yarn and see that that is just what it is! That is the best part.

I have one last block to knit and am going to start blocking this week. Now that I've seen the layout, I can block squares in groups that I can sew together afterwards. Hopefully I can get both processes finished this week. Glad to see that we are going to pick up stitches all along the edge or make one long border to sew down an entire edge rather than lots of tiny ones to attach separately!

Hey wow... I though this was supposed to be a knitting learning experience.. What a bonus to be learning computerese. Who of the over 60 crowd even knew what a cache was a few hours ago? Now I even know how to clear mine. Thanks, Bernat, for providing such multi faceted learning experiences.

I am so excited to finish up week 3 now! Still have 5 squares left. Sigh. Totally putting all the squares I do have in position tonight to see how it looks!

Got the clue downloaded and laid out my squares to see what it would look like. I then rearranged them to one of the blanket possibilities that I loved. My color scheme did not look good in that arrangement so I went with the layout in the clue. I started in the middle and I used overcast stitch. It took me a few tries to get it to look right.

I found out that if I sew in only the bumps on the edge it looks much nicer. Also when sewing the shaker rib triangle to the garter triangle it looks much better and balanced when I used the color of the garter stitch. I hope that makes sense and maybe helps some others. So far I have six squares sewn together and still having fun with this project. :cloud9:

okay - tried everything I could on my computer, but not being computer smart, I flunked. I'm really upset not to get these instructions after spending all that money on good yarn and it seems like now I have to "wing it". Not good. I did the CAL last year and this year I did both CAL/KAL. Hope the CAL works out better. Although I've enjoyed knitting and crocheting and reading all the comments I don't think I'll do this again - I don't have that kind of money to just throw away. I am really, really disappointed to say the least. flobee

:bravo: hooray - finally got the clue - stupid me - I've been at it for 5 hours - can't believe I just told the whole world how dumb I am - nevertheless, I finally "got it". Thanks to all who helped me with this - I really appreciate all.

If Clue 5 is simply assembling 4 motifs across and 6 down, we are still short 4 motifs. Correction to #3 was to add 4 more squares. Are we finished or what?

You should have 24 squares.
Clue 1 - 8
Clue 2 - 4
Clue 3 - 8
Clue 4 - 4
None of these totals has changed during the KAL; the clue 3 correction changed the rows in a square, not how many squares you make. I think you may have missed 4 along the way!

I was wondering, :hrmm: In the information about the Kal it is said that the Kal should measure approx 45" X 59". We have now Four squares across measuring each 9.5" total 38" that means that the border should measure approx 7" to total 45" but we also have 6 squares lengthwise also 9.5"each that is total 57" m +7" for the border is 64". Or maybe the border will be 2" lenghtwise . My question is what is the final measure of the afghan??
