I'm so sorry about your husband. I'm finally back to doing my motifs at home after trying to do them at the hospital waiting with my Mom for my Aunt to pass. I can understand the hurry up and wait.

May you both find peace.

I did the dtr clusters w/ chain 5 for the centers and did the last round as charted because I could see the way it will curve, looking more like lace on the edge. Am using stash yarn instead of my beautiful Waverly yarn. My husband is home in hospice care and I am his 24 hr/day nurse. He has had cancer for 20 years, so many surgeries and treatments. Now it is inoperable and there is no chemo that slows it down. Some days I have alot of time to sit and crochet, others no time to even breathe. I have always made small blankets and donated them to hospitalized veterans through the volunteer services, probably 6 so far this year. So I will donate this afghan to some group because looking at it will remind me of the hardest times, with all the frustration, anger and pain. When he is at peace I will complete my afghan because I really love what I chose and I can stitch it with good thoughts and memories in mind. Do I sound crazy, or does anyone else understand what I mean? :( Just looked at my post and realized how I rambled about my problems. But I don't feel like hitting delete either. Sorry if I depress anyone and thanks for Listening/ reading???

I will keep you and your family in my prayers!
God Bless

Sundrift 3.0 oz. plus one full skein on the way to me
Incense 2.5 oz.
Irish Moss 2.9 oz.
Willow 2.6 oz. :reading: :scared:

karenarp wrote:I finally was able to finish this in my official CAL 2 colours. I think I may have held my tension too tight, but I really love the overall look. It is not 11 inches, but since none of my other CAL 2 motifs are to size it doesn't make a big difference. It matches what I have before. My CAL 1 is perfect, perfect size, perfect motifs (as in followed the patterns) and I stuck with official. For CAL 2 I switched up clues 2 and 6.
CAL 2 78.JPG

I named it 78 for the doily pattern it is derived from. The doily had no name other than a number! I love how you can make almost anything in different weights and get totally different sizes! So obvious, yet still so cool!

:bravo: I love that! Can you send me the pattern?

It's the one of the cover doilies from this book:
http://www.amazon.ca/Little-Doilies-Leisure-Arts-3228/dp/1574862332
Even says its name!
I omitted the points. I worked the first 8 rows then stopped. There are popcorn stitches, tr fp stitches and a funky ending stitch on row 6, something I had not used before but heard about. So many of the stitches are ones we learned along the way in this CAL. I am so grateful for the different things this has inspired me to try.
I am still not brave enough to ever try fitted clothing yet, but I do feel much braver than I was back before February!

I'm sorry for what you're going through. Both my aunt and my father went because of cancer and I know it's an awful thing to go through. I understand what you mean because I do the same thing in remembering what I was making at a certain time. It's easier to make it and give it away so you won't have to remember. My prayers are with you.
