Bunnies for Easter KAL/CAL

Postby Shandeh » Mon Mar 19, 2012 3:07 pm

I would like to make some bunny rabbit items for Easter. So, I decided to do a search on the Bernat website for bunnies, and found lots of options!

I'm leaning toward the Satin Finger Puppets.

The Toy Bunnies look cool too. I'm thinking that I could leave the bottom open, and turn it into a hand puppet.

The Baby Jacquards Bunny Toy looks good too.

And babies can play with the baby Bunny Toy.

There's even a pattern for a few rabbit hats!

And here's a full set for a baby. Cottontots Baby Bunny Set

Would anyone else like to make bunnies with me?

I also looked through the Bernat Books for bunny patterns, and found the following:

A Satin Bunny Set in Great Gift Ideas
The set includes a hat, mittens, slippers, and a bag. Cute!

There's a Bunny Buddy toy in the Baby Sport Blankets & Buddies book.

Some Bunny and Bear Rattles in the Softee Baby Baby Gifts pattern book.

A Fantasy Flowers Bunny in the Softee Baby Baby Talk book.
Image

And a sweet, fluffy bunny and blanket with ears in the Pipsqueak Blankets, Bunnies, and Bears book

Now, I'm having trouble deciding which one I want to make! :)

The first two look fun to me.....is the second one a crochet? Is it easy enough to try? Could it be made up as a washcloth?

I'm leaning toward the first one, and the second one would definitely be fun as a washcloth. You would just need to leave the bottom open for your hand to slip inside. And yes...the second one is crochet - for beginners!

I made an Easter Bunny! :D

I used the Finger Puppet pattern: http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=4760
When it was finished, I decided to stuff the body, instead of using it as a finger puppet. It just felt too floppy to work as a finger puppet. I think it looks better as a small toy.

That is so cute!! I have some Bernat Waverly yarn left over from the KAL that I could use to make a white bunny! :bravo:

The Bunny is beautiful. I love it. I have one question??? Where do you find the time for all the work you do? I can't keep up. I am doing the Cal, did then Mermaid purses, the Chrysanthemum Dishcloth and now I want to do the Finger Puppet (Bunny) like yours stuffed. ( this will take me awhile, I'm not good a knitting ) Then I'd like to try the Toy Bunny, leaving the bottom open and use it for a roll of tissue paper. You give me such inspiration. The things you do are soooo beautiful. Thanks.

Gosh, I wish I could stay caught up with the blankets! I'm very slow with those. The small projects are fun and quick

:hrmm: I'm so confused... I saw an angel before a bunny. I might need to make another body for the bunny. I left the bottom open and it is covering a roll of tissue. Image
