It's really the only pet I can have, because I'm allergic to all furry and feathered animals.
I can't see myself having a reptile, so I'll stick with fish. ;)

They are adorable and thanks for sharing. There is nothing more fun than puppies and kittens, but I am partial to anything canine. I would like to foster dogs but DH is not interested--think he is afraid that once I am attached I will not let go and we would wind up with a house full of dogs. Our "child" now is very spoiled being an "only." We cannot afford any more now since she has Addison's Disease and costs us a small fortune at the vet every month. Gotta love'um!!!!

dcrozier,
I really fell in love with one of my fosters but knew I could not afford her impending future medical care and I really miss her. I love all of them all though, and really am happy to have helped them find new homes. It is a lot of work but very rewarding.
Leejoyce62,
Why don't you look around at http://www.photobucket.com. It is free, if you can get your pictures to that, you can resize them there and post to here from there. It is very user friendly I think. I don't have cell phone that takes photos, I use digital camera.

My daughter is 8 now but when she was 2 she was severely bitten by our lab and she suffered a broken arm. It terrified me greatly and I was hesitant on getting another dog. But, when my girlfriend who was in dire need to give her up. It was my daughter who pushed me into it. So, I accepted. And now, Cleo is the best dog I've ever owned. She's adapted to us so quickly. We've only had her for 5 months and she's our family!

Bettas are great and lots of fun to watch. Any chance you might not be allergic to something like a goldendoodle?

I like dogs, but have never had any. Have been a cat person since birth. My parents had a picture of me crawling with a white kitten on my head. They said the kitten and I would play hide and seek and when the kitten got tired of playing he would jump on my back so I couldn't find him. That cat lived to be 23 years old, I still miss him. Have 3 cats now, all rescues(they show up on my doorstep in response to that neon sign that says "food, shelter, and medical care here" that humans can't see). Completely different personalities, love 'em all to pieces. My "furry kids", now that mine are grown. They keep me company, console me when I'm sad, need reassurance now that my husband is ill and doesn't play with them. But I love all the cuddles, even when the "help" me with my yarn... :cloud9: :hellogoodbye:

I can't live with any furry or feathered animals. I've tried being around the ones that are supposed to be allergy-proof, but I still have breathing problems. My system is just very sensitive. I can be with animals for about an hour or so, but then the allergy and asthma kicks in. I'm okay with it really. It makes it easier to keep my house when it's just me here. Also, I can't afford veterinarian bills.

I definitely understand the vet bills--that is where all our "spare" monthly money goes--we get to see a canine opthomologist in Atlanta on Monday. Fortunately, our girl is worth all the effort. What color is your betta?
