Debbie Macomber writes about her knitting store (original book). They are good comfort books. I've read them all. They even have some knitting patterns in them.

Oh, yes, and you can even buy the knitting patterns with photos as separate books but with the same theme as the titles of her novels. I got one of the knitting pattern books from the library this winter and realized there was a Matching book to read to go along with it! I haven't read the books yet, though.

Have you tried Jennifer Chiaverini's Elm Creek Quilters books? I really enjoyed them even though I can't quilt a stitch. They are mainly about the women involved in the quilting groups and quilting retreats and their lives. It gets into a mystery occasionally and sometimes into history involving old family quilts. http://elmcreek.net/ is her site. They is a listing of all her books and a short synopsis of each one. They start with The Quilter's Apprentice. I usually check half.com for used ones first.

Yes, have read one or two. Have Sonoma Rose out and on the To Read Soon shelf. Just had to return one called Knit One Pearl One without having read it. Not enough time. There is a long wait list on it. This week I have Sunrise on Cedar Key by Terri Dulong. Going to discover her. A bucket full of bright balls of yarn is on the front cover. There is a funny mystery series involving chocolate frogs. Can't think of it just now either. Oh, and Nicholas Sparks' third book in The Walk series is coming out next month. I just love that story about the guy walking from Seattle to Florida.

Hi all, No one brought up Nora Roberts, Joan Johnston, Catherine Anderson, and you must read Wildflower Hill
by Kimberley Freeman. Wow what a mouth full. I love to read, and LOVE series. Wildflower is not a continued story. There is a book knit one purl two, but I don't know who writes it. Susan Wiggs has a lovely series also. Oh well must leave, to crochet sew or read.

Since we have a few extra minutes between clues :-) I've had time to explore some of the other forum topics. I love to read, but I really dislike all the bad language. Does anyone have recommendations for books that lean towards maybe a hell or damn thrown in without the f word s word and without using the Lord's name as a cuss word?

Thanks,
Laina :-)

I'm with you on that. I don't like hearing those words OR reading them. :)
Most of the classic literature has clean language, so those would be a good choice.
