I'm quite glad for the catch up week - only just started last week's clue yesterday as was finishing off a traditional granny sqaure afghan for a wedding present. Now I can ctach up yay :knit:

Exceedingly disappointing. I don't do blocking. Bang, boom, end of story. Never have, never have needed to.
I may just start playing around with all the pieces (which I brought in to work today) and start playing around and putting it together the way I want to. I have off next week from school, my own kids are still in school, my husband is going away, and it would be the perfect week for me to have solid chunks of QUIET time in which to do that which I hate most, namely, putting things together. When so many different forum members have already written and posted pictures of their blocked motifs, shame on you, CAL designers, for not paying closer attention to the members' comments during the last 6 weeks.

I have sat up half the night waiting! Now I am sleep deprived and have nothing to show for it :tears:
Not all of us are behind. Major disappointed.

I, too, am disappointed! :stop: A week with nothing to do on the afghan... So much for staying on task! I am afraid this may just stop my progress on it completely... I tend to get busy with something else if I do not keep pressing forward. :knit: Good Luck to those catching up.

I'm glad for the break. While I am caught up on the CAL, I have a lot more work to do on the KAL, so I am glad for the extra time to work on that!

I'm with you. I have never blocked anything that I have crocheted and I don't really see myself doing it now. This will give me time to finish crocheting.

I'm a little put out also. I've been finished with my motifs, and blocking has been completed . Sorry about the slower crocheters. I'm crocheting, while I wait for the catcher - uppers, an entrelac blanket, and a large puff stitch granny square blanket. By the time everyone is caught up, I should be finished with both projects.
Can't wait to see the assembling of the afghan.

same here, stitchychic. Well, i do block for certain things, like clothes, especially if they're curling, but these I haven't.

anyone ever blocked a large one-piece blanket? I'm going to HAVE to block the orange mandala blanket i'm working on in order to get it to lie properly. but it's big (about 5' diameter), i have to use steam, and I dont' have a non-wooden surface anywhere handy I can do that one...can't use carpeted floors, can't use hardwood floors, can't use wooden kitchen table. suggestions? weather's not nice enough to do it outside on the deck..and that's wood too! when i was a teenager I once put a towel down on my mom's good antique mahogany dining room table and did my ironing on that cuz I was too lazy to get out the ironing board.....boy did i catch hell for THAT, and for good reason. I put a permanent white spot on the table which is still there (it's my table now).

A little bit disappointed too  ..... I don't block :idonno: (never did !) ... and I've already spent a lot of time trying to put the octogones in a nice way  ...

BUT ... I have to sew the KAL  and I don't like sewing the squares :scared: ............ and I'll knit the borders ! So, I'm not unoccupied !!!

AND while waiting, I wandered randomly on the internet .... and I found lovely projects for soon ....

So, if my first reaction was  , now, it is more  :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

For those of you complaining about the "break" - shame on you for not paying attention at the beginning. It was quite clear that there would be at least one of these catch-up weeks for those of us who just can't spend our entire day crocheting. And this break is much appreciated by me so that I can get caught up like the rest of you.
Now I'll step off my soap-box.
