When I measure mine it is 60" in length. I notice the pattern calls for us to knit "approx57". Do I just knit to the full 60" ? :idonno:

It's always my least favorite part of any knitting project, plus I haven't decided which design to put it together in. :idonno: I didn't really care for the sugested one, and just haven't had the time to play around with it enough to find one I love. :inlove: I've got a couple I like, but haven't found that one that jumps out at me. :notworthy:

Ditto, ditto, ditto for me too! I think I've finally chosen, with helpful advice from fellow voters who all chose the same design! I wanted to start sewing together this week, but couldn't find any of my 6 needles that I had before Christmas! So I went out last night and got more yarn needles and my circular needles in the correct size.....and stitch row counters, end point blockers in colourful sock motifs, and a few other things that I couldn't resist. Shandeh, I found those flower pins! :P I have a whole bunch of knitting needles and other supplies that I had before we moved, and haven't found the correct box yet, so am getting a few duplicates..... :scared: While I would have preferred to pick up stitches along those long edges to save time, I am quite happy to know that I can now knit the borders :knit: :knit: :knit: even if my afghan is not sewn together yet! :cloud9:

The chart for left edging seem to have errors, in row 1 where it should be noted as knit it is showed as purl, eg last seven sts of row 1.

Is there any way of knitting this and adding it on the edge at the same time? I am sure there is a method to doing this that is similar to doing an entrelac. I am afraid I would get so board knitting 14 stiches back and forth for 57-60". Then have to sew it on.

But I do agree with one of the previous posts that said yeah to the lace pattern :D I am so done with shaker stiches.

i have the same question... if we have slightly smaller/larger squares, should we measure the full length of our blanket and continue the pattern repeat to our desired length?

The Left Edging begins on the Wrong Side (WS), and the chart reads differently depending on if you're working a Right Side or a Wrong Side. On a wrong side, the squares with the - are to be knit, not purl; you purl those on a right side. This makes more sense in my head! I've highlighted the relevant parts below, let me know if it does (or doesn't!) help.

I've never knit or crocheted with a chart. This is so confusing I may never attempt it! I'm so glad the instructions were also given.

Once I figure out which is the "outside" edge, I intend to pick up stitches along the inside edge (like entrelac - slip the last stich of the edging, pick up and knit a stitch from the afghan, pass the slipped stitch over). I HATE seaming - haven't put mine together yet for that reason. Currently working on 10 stitch afghan that picks up as you go so NO SEAMING!
