Knit-Along Clue 5 (Week 6)

Yipeeee ! I finished sewing everything together.I selected a different layout that worked best for my colours.
I gotta say though, this is one ugly afghan.... but, I had a lot of fun making it and have only myself to blame for the colour sequence selection so there you go. I am hoping the border might help

Best of all, it is a lovely warm blanket...it is unique and it's mine. Ugly or not I love it and it will get put to good use. I can probably make up a pretty good story to go along with it!

I really hope you do this again next year. I love a good mystery.

I am with you witknit....mine is also "one ugly afghan" and for the same reason... my color sequence was awful.
I decided to redo most of the squares and it is going much faster than I thought. Only have to redo 4 whole squares, the others I am undoing and knitting the second half in a different color or undoing where I joined the yarn and joining with peices of other clues.

I agree also.....mine is one ugley afghan too hopefully the border will improve its looks !!!!!!! Guess it is my fault tho as I am the one who picked out the colors !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh well.......it was fun but not as much fun as the last CAL it did a couple of years ago sue

The really sad (or funny or stupid ..depending on how you look at it) thing for me is I did the SAME thing in the last KAl.
I disliked my colors so much I frogged the whole thing and made a complete different pattern afghan. It is still kind of ugly, but not as bad and it does get used all the time.
I am liking this one better since I am reknitting the squares and at least I will not be rekitting a entire afghan.

Man I need to get some help uploading pictures. I finished my Mystery Afghan and because I am a little
fussy I sewed buttons on where the squares meet. I used a lovely red button in the middle and then since my main color is a blue/purple I used big blue/purple buttons on the rest. I will get my kids to help me upload a picture and then I will try and post it. Should be fun.
Since she watch me knit it up (I have been staying there off and on since Christmas because she has not been well and we are waiting for an opening at a retirement home) so she is delighted to have this for her new place. Stay tuned for a picture. Thanks Bernat for the great project!!!!!

I thought that mine was the only ugly afghan. I think the border will help mine. I have to finish clue 3 and sew them together. I feel so behind until I read the blog and see others in the same boat. Also, my sister is doing the CAL and has done only one block!

Anyway, I got it all together and didn't like it. Like so many have posted, it was one ugly afghan. So, being the perfectionist that I am, I ripped all the squares apart again and waited for a clam day to myself in this house (which in itself is a miracle) and then started playing around with the squares. Viola! it popped and I like the design and colors - it works!! No longer an ugly afghan. Can't wait to get everything sewed back together and start on the border. For those of you not satisfied with your creation, you may want to think about doing what I did.

I laid mine out first. I have been rearranging my until I find one that I like. I still have to finish clue 3, but I think that I have found one that I like.
