Introduce Yourself!

If you feel like talking about something that isn't knit- or crochet-related, feel free to do so here.

Hi, I'm Joan and I live in central-southeast Michigan! I am a knitter :knit: and as my screen name implies, I love to make mittens! ;) I made my first pair last November--it was actually out of necessity that I learned how to make mittens, as my husband has Neuropathy in his feet and hands--his hands get super cold and he thought mittens might help warm his chilly hands. Only problem is, it's hard to find men's knitted mittens. So I sat down with a good pattern and I was off to the races!
I have been knitting voraciously since I re-learned in late summer 2009. I love to knit sooooo much! :inlove: It has helped me learn patience, to think outside the box and to express my creativity. Plus it has given my self-confidence a huge boost! :cooldude:
Besides knitting, I love to kayak. My husband and I own sea kayaks and love paddling on the Great Lakes--we only have to get the boats on Lakes Erie and Ontario, to have paddled all 5 Lakes.
I also l love spending time with my little man, Mr. Jingles--my Cocker spaniel. :inlove: :inlove: I just finished a patchwork blanket of my own design, for him.
I also enjoy history, museums, rockhounding and visiting wineries. Love to read too.

Hi all,
I'm Kelly and a little late on introductions seeing we just started Clue#7~ Block week
I'm married and a mother of two kids boy and girl who steal my heart! I work the night shift regular part time (full time hours) at a nursing home. Which I'd love to quit to stay home and crochet all day but that is only a dream!

Do you knit and/or crochet? I wanted to learn how to knit so badly that I bought everything I could and a co worker of mine helped me learn as well. I taught myself how to crochet. I seem to like that better. I'm a beginner designer and just setting up an account on raverly. I'm just sorting thru my patterns I've written onto notebooks and transferring to my laptop. When the internet first came out the one site I often was on was the Bernat website and I didn't even notice the forum pages! Boy, I missed out!

How long have you been knitting and/or crocheting? I've been doing both for almost 4 years now.

Where are you from? Hamilton mtn, Ontario, Canada

What are your favorite things to make? Unfortunately, I haven't finished all my projects coz it's just too exciting to begin new projects!Mine would also be hats. They're just so gosh darn quick!

What other hobbies do you have? Oh boy, I love to read, draw, write and I want to learn how to sew and cross stitch

Hi,
I'm Deb and I live in Melbourne Australia. My grandmother taught me to crochet many years ago and although I have done a bit now and then over the years, I have been doing nothing else but over the last 6-8 months. I started off doing doilies, then Filet got the better of me and I threw myself into that but now that Winter is here I have been madly doing afghans. I received a free afghan pattern with some crochet cotton I had ordered and that was that ;) Lol. I had trouble getting the right yarn to do all the American patterns I had downloaded so then decided to go straight to the source and I now buy all my yarn over the Internet.
I work as a medical receptionist 2 half days a week and have 2 daughters, 4 grandchildren, 1 husband and a little dog, all of who keep me busy lol.
I have had an online store for the last few years selling paper craft supplies but have packed everything up and called it quits.....started crocheting instead lol
Deb :)
