I know we keep saying 15 weeks, but does anyone know where that is posted? According to the main CAL/KAL page, it goes through April. That is closer to 10 or so (which makes more sense than 15 considering we only have to piece together and do a border).

It never made sense to me either - 15 weeks means we'll spend more time on the border then on the blocks it surrounds.
But it has been posted in the forums by a mod...

I seem to recall from reading posts that we have one more motif to go. Maybe we don't, but I think I remember reading that. Maybe Shandeh, can clarify. I think it was she or Jen who may have said that about one more motif.

There would be some "triangular filling in" that might account for the 8 more weeks of CAL?

What do you think? :?:

Hi Dsegel,

Mine is real similar to yours, but different. I was up last night playing around and came up with so many possibilities that I finally had to quit. hee hee :hrmm:

I'll post the photo of what I left it at last night and then rearrange to your template. How did you do that by the way? It would be so much easier to play around with on the computer.

Thanks for sharing your design. I love it!

I need to get to the store to buy some T pins so I can block today.

Hoping everyone is having fun this week.

Hi Laina!

I'm glad you liked my design. Thank you! :cloud9: I would love to see yours, too.

I made the little shapes in Power Point. Rearranged them and then copied them to a "jpg" format. I could have spent a lot more time lining things up for the picture but figured my time was better spent catching up. I still have 6 large ones and 2 smalls ones to do! :knit: :knit: :knit:

I came up with different designs, too, but I guess I'm kind of orderly and like things symmetrical :? so that was kind of my favorite one. I like the idea of filling in with the borders rather than sewing the motifs directly together.

I think you will be glad you blocked. Made such a big difference for me.

Look forward to seeing your picture(s).

The two pictures below are of my silly kitty, Callie, "helping" with the layout. She loves to "help" me with my crochet projects. :D I'll post a picture later of my layout idea....after I finish those two missing Clue #3 motifs.

Love you choice of colors and Calli looks so pretty in it. My kitty sleeps on my laps while I crochet or knit LOVE IT !!

I haven't blocked any of them or weaved in any ends.

Oh wow! I think we used nearly the same colors! What are the names of yours? I have bark as my main; porcelin red, bitter rose, willow and sundrift.

It was just an answer to a question, back when the KAL/CAL first started.

All the crochet motifs are completed with Clue #6. All that's left now is seaming, and adding a border.
Those instructions will be posted in later clues.

We did state at the beginning there would be 15 weeks total for the event, but that includes several weeks after the blanket is officially 'finished' when we'll be showing off our finished work and maybe even having a few contests. :D I've been tempted to keep it a mystery but i can tell you're all dying to know - we're officially done with the motifs now, and we'll be following this up with seaming and the border.
