I have one question for the border. When it says "Left Edging", does that mean that this strip will be attached to the left side of the afghan? And that the "seed stitch" (k1,p1) will be the side attached to the afghan?

Yes, it's the left edge - but the seed stitch will be the outer section, and the right section (where the yarn overs are) will attach to the blanket!
Temperature Scarf KAL: Bernat Satin, corrugated ribbing.

I am relieved that the border is knit separate, because after sewing it all together this blanket is rather heavy. I understand not wanting to sew when it's all done but I pick up and put away my knitting so many times in a day, it would be a pain to deal with the whole blanket every time. I love how the border looks, but it will need blocking for sure.

Very good points, charoks and knittingnana. I am consoled that I can continue to knit and alternate with sewing! Have supplies in bag and may just do a bit over the lunch hour to try out the border. Glad to have seen swatches so I know what to pay attention to!

Don't feel bad.. I still have 4 squares from clue 3 to make, all of clue 4, blocking, and piecing the top to do... my philosophy on this kal is that it isn't the pace that matters, it's the amount of fun I have making that blanket that does :) Happy Knitting! :knit:

I am going to have fun making the border because it goes on and on and isn't a square. Mine will be in dark blue :inlove: I can't wait, hope to start it this weekend.

Just make sure you don't get so into it that you forget to stop; otherwise you'll end up with a mile-long scarf!

That might make a good scarf with the 2 sides sewn together.

I just finished my final square for 2 and starting clue 3. The KAL has helped me learn quickly and friends have been asking me questions about knitting and learning, I always direct them to the Bernat forums because it has helped me so much with all my how to questions and giving me confidence in my work.
