Crochet-Along Week 7: Blanket Possibilities

The two pictures below are of my silly kitty, Callie, "helping" with the layout. She loves to "help" me with my crochet projects.

My goodness .. I think she has the layout completely figured out!!!

Ok, I lied. One more.

I like both your designs - I was also working with a square idea and have something very similar. I love your choice of colour. I had such a hard time - in the end - blue/pink/brown/silver gray/cream.

Started laying out my motifs and discovered that I made two too many of Clue #3 in my main color and not enough in my color C - Antique.....oops!!! I'll post a picture later of my layout idea....after I finish those two missing Clue #3 motifs.

My cats don't really like helping because they've already gotten in trouble a shooed away when they've tried to muffin the yarn. However, my puppy loves helping, at least until he falls asleep in my lap and the yarn drags over him and then he jumps awake and tries to bite it...

I imagine that is known as a "crochet handicap," but a loving one!!!

I meant to mention that I haven't blocked them yet.

I bought some T-pins today and wow are they expensive. 40 for $4.79. So I only bought two packages. One at 40% off coupon at JoAnnes.

I also noticed while puzzling around with my motifs, that one or two were two small. So I'll need to frog and crochet a little looser. Glad to have this week to do this kind of stuff!!!

I use quilting pins with the colored tops--they are easier on my fingers and easier for me to pull out. They are also cheaper than the T pins.

That would fit perfectly, Dcrozier, "Crochet Handicap"!!!! I have having a hard time wrapping by brain round the layout trying to get all the motifs in the design .....guess I'll wait to next week to see what the official layout is.
Had an interesting request from my sister today. She asked if I had an afghan in the works that could be used on our mom's casket in lieu of a flower spray, as we know that we will be losing her some time soon to cancer. I will be completing the afghan that I am working in the non-Waverly colors as they fit my mom for that purpose.

What a fantastic idea!!!!!!!!! Nothing would be more personal than a handmade afghan. I have always thought that funeral flowers were such a waste. When I go, I would rather have folks plant something in their yards in my memory.

I have been following your posts on your mother and totally understand what you are going through My mother has a carcinoid (sp) tumor on her liver and she is terminal, but there are so few people with those that the doctors have no idea about her life expectancy--she is in her fifth year with this and is still holding her own at 88. My prayers are with you and your family.

My guess is that this is the one Bernat is going to have on Wednesday! But with the dark blue and light blue alternating around. It's awesome!!!
