Not the best picture in town, but it seems to be easy to pick up the stitch on the afghan. If we were having cold weather, I would love having the afghan in my lap. But it is turning warm, so I guess I will crank on the air conditioning and make it seem like winter. LOL

:bravo: I agree!!! The border design is VERY cute for this afghan!! I especially like how the eyelets go at a diagonal; just like many of our squares have that diagonal design from being knit on the bias! Way to go, Bernat designers!! What an awesome way to coordinate it all together! I love it! :inlove: :cloud9:

Ok. After reading all of yesterday's posts and now seeing this, I want to know how to do it! Can you post diections on how you are picking up this stitch at the edge to connect to blanket? I hope when you get to the top you Will come out with à complete pattern design. Are you counting approx. How many rows of pattern per square it is requiring? My next afghan (also my living room colours) is going to be an entrelac, but I have not yet done any. I have a DVD though and have watched à couple of Youtube and about.com vidéos.

I hope I can explain what I do. When the "Right side" is facing me, I pick up a stitch from the afghan and pull the first stitch from the clue over that stitch, so the afghan stitch is my first stitch to knit. Now I don't know, right now, if this will work on the shaker stitch pattern as it seems to have more stitches to work with. I haven't gotten that far yet. I am counting my rows as I go along and I hope I finish with row one (same as the pattern asks) when I finish a square. This is really a work in progress. Hey, ask my friends, I always change up a pattern.

:hellogoodbye: I'm curious about the pictures that were posted of the border. They appear very flat. I've knit about a foot and a half of the left border and mine is taking on a very soft cabling effect leaning to the right and rising above the seed stitch section. I like the look of it as it adds another dimension. Just wondering if those who posted their pictures intentionally flattened their border??? Perhaps I just knit looser and I should tighten up my tension a bit. The border is a beautiful touch for our afghans! I'm enjoying the pattern. KNIT ON!

Hi: This is my first post. I finished the left border, attached it to my afghan, and draped it on the loveseat to admire it. My dog, Phoebe, jumped on the sofa and found a nice spot to take a nap.
