Blocking

Im so excited! I splurged and brought the Bagsmith Block & Roll. Its huge! Cant wait to try it out tomorrow. This will be my first attempt at "real" blocking. The first clue I did on a towel and it didnt come out too square. So I'll do them all again. Clue 6 definitely needs blocking to show the true beauty..love it!

I have never blocked acrylic much before and came across this site that I thought was very helpful.

My question was does the item retain its shape after blocking after washing. Apparently it does.
" If your gauge is just a little bit off so the piece is a little too small, you can stretch it out to where it's supposed to be. The change will be permanent once the blocking is complete."

I am going to have to get my travel steamer out and try this.

I blocked using and iron and a teatowel. It is so satisfying to see all my squares neatly piled up on the coffee table all nicely blocked
