Ok, I'm not sure if I like the pattern, but that's what this has been about for me. Stepping out of my comfort zone and not just making a rectangular blanket, but following patterns and charts.

I still have a couple of clue 5 to finish and a couple of clue 6.

I'm not sure how this is going to look, but I'm going to go with it and go ahead with my plan to give it to my Mom for Mother's Day. I don't think anyone has ever made her anything like this. Usually it's a Grandma present to my kids, so I think that will be a nice surprise for her. (I hope!) :idonno:

So, guess I have to go finish those motifs and start sewing, after I find my yarn needles. Had two really nice, big ones and I can't find them. I'm pretty sure "Not me" did something with them. (You know, where you ask your kids who did something and they all answer, "not me." - he causes lots of trouble in my house!)

Do you remember seeing the comics of "not me" in the Family Circus?

Those are priceless! My 3 1/2 year old daughter has already started blaming "Not Me" for things! HA!

Can you tell us what color(s) we'll need for the border? It may help those of us who didn't do the 12" tail thing and want to seam with just 1 unifying color. Thanks.

Officially, we'll be recommending you use MC for the border, though you can change that if you would prefer a different color.

In order to complete the border with MC, you should have somewhere between 1/2 and 3/4 of a ball left. If you're short, you may want to buy an extra ball.

Thank you!! :D

My sister and I have decided to place this CAL afghan on her coffin when she passes in lieu of a flower spray, thanks to a suggestion from our aunt. If you look back with my posts, the colors are my non-Waverly yarn which are totally my mother's colors. I will post a picture of the afghan when I get it completed. Thank you to all of the Bernat Forum members who have sent me encouraging messages and letting me know you are praying for us. All ya'll are the BEST!!

So sorry to hear, I will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers.

Just now had a chance to go on-line and check out this week's clue and YAY!! I'm so excited about the layout - in fact I was gping to do this layout anyway. Still have some more motifs to fnish up then I can start seaming - hopefully next week as my Spring Break starts when I leave work today (after 3 days of in-service)!! :cloud9:

crochetnut wrote:I have 4 individual rows seamed together. :D Taking a little break right now because seaming my incense color is a little difficult on the eyes due to it being so dark. I'm also prepping for a colonoscopy tomorrow so I have that stuff to deal with today also. I am finding one motif has more stitches in it then the little square so I'm having to fudge it together a little bit. Don't remember which motif clue it was but it is just one that I need to fudge. I double checked it with the pattern also and it does have more stitches then the others. Made one mistake on first row but think I will be okay with it. I would unseam it but I can't find my end to undo it. :idonno: So will make do with it.

Hope I like the finished afghan as I didn't lay it out due to no place other then the bed. And If I lay it out on the bed I may just crawl back into bed and go to sleep. Didn't sleep last night, stuff on the mind all night.

I don't envy you the colonoscopy. I had to do one last year and drinking that awful stuff was the worst part! Just hang in there and tell yourself it's has to be done for a good cause. I hope everything turns out well for you!

I really don't like the seaming part of this project but I will buckle down and do it and then I will have a beautiful afghan to show for it. Thanks Bernat for doing the CAL, I always learn something new and have a great time reading how everyone else is doing. Wednesday will soon cease to be a great day of excitement as the CAL will be done but I will just have to find another activity to look forward to! :D

What would suggest for the matching pillow? I love to crochet, but I am not a designer, and I have no eye for color. Would really appreciate your input.

Thanks.

I definately know what you mean. I can't wait to get done with Reading Tutorials. They have so stood in the way of my crocheting. I am anxiously awaiting the end of dinner, so I can start seaming.
